Super annoying

In theory, this is an awesome product. Unfortunately about 80% of the time when I go to use it, the application on the iPhone requires you to log in. Doesn't matter if it's been 5 minutes since I last used the lock, or if it's been 5 days. SO ANNOYING! How have they not figured this out yet?! While it's very convenient not to have to use my keys, it's less convenient to have to type in my password every time I use the app. Come on Kwikset, you're better than this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the first gen Kevo and installed the 2nd Gen Kevo in its place. I like the single wire connection and the smaller interior side better then the 1st Gen. The lock has been inconsistent in locking and unlocking at first, it is slowly getting better but wish it was more reliable. I made sure to follow the direction on routing the wire but I still need to have my phone out and opened to the app for it to work consistently. I hope it gets better to where I can leave my phone in my pocket. I would recommend the Kevo 2nd Gen but it is with some hesitation as it does not work consistently the way I feel it should.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't work.....period!

I have had this unit for 4 Years now. Even after two years they were nice enough to replace the unit after multiple support calls. Even after that it worked absolutely no different than the first unit. We mostly just use our keys now. It is a huge hastle. It only works if the phone is 6" from the lock and even with that 90% of the time you have to touch the lock at least 2 to 3 times for it to finally unlock. There is no point to this lock if I have to touch my phone to the lock each time I might as will just use my keys, it is actually faster.

Nice Idea, Disappointing Performance

We've been using this Kevo deadlock for several months now and I am somewhat disappointed in how glitchy it is in operation. Nearly half the time it takes two or more tries to get it to lock or unlock and occasionally it activates on its own with opening or closing the door (without touching the lock collar). Logging of lock and unlock operation is spotty at best.

Android - Support limited and little droid support

I purchased this lock Sept 2014. Had to use the lock fob since Android Kevo App was not available until a couple of weeks ago for the AT&T v.5 Lollipop upgrade. The guidance to use the Kevo app with the Kwikset lock is painful. Kwikset needs to update the installation and user guides so that it is easy to follow. Everything seems to be designed for Apple users.
