Changed my life!

I bought this Lock as soon as it was released on the market. I read about it in a magasin and the Kwickset lock has really fulfilled all our expectations... Saves a lot of time and problems with dropped keys and the need to hide keys for temporary visitors to our house.... by the lock as soon as possible!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Idea, poor execution

Very finicky product, both from iPhone and key fob .... Problem may be that I have a heat resistant garage door, but the range between iPhone is very limited, I have to actually touch the lock and the unlock/lock still fails
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Cool Way to unlock my door

I bought my Bluetooth Kwikset when they first became available. I am an early adopter. It was simple to install and easy to setup. At first, my Kevo app had to be running on my iPhone for the lock to lock and unlock. But Kevo keeps updating the software. Its better and better. Now, it works great. And I don't need to start the app for the lock to work. Works great. I would buy this again and again. I've recommended it to a couple of friends and they bought one. They think I am so smart for showing it to them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this lock for little more than about a year and half.
Installation wise I ended up having to get a locksmith to the old lock removed (high security model that was difficult) so I can not comment on the install.
The lock it self works really well and is very handy as single parent with two kids. I'm often carrying lots items in from the car (I'm stubborn and want to do it all in one trip) and I never have to dig my keys out to open the door. The kids are even able to help unlock by just tapping the key lock when I'm in range of the door.
For most of the first year I had to use the kevo fob due to the lack of Android support and miscommunication at launch (Android was said to be coming in the next few months). My current Android phone (OS: Android version 6.X - Marshmallow) is now supported and works really well. My phone simply stays in my pocket and the door locks/unlocks with a tap.
Regarding the Kevo fob when it worked it was great but after three fobs in the year I can tell you these cannot take a fall at all. One or two drop from about 2-3 feet on a hard surface and it's done (had them on my key ring). So only use them as a backup or as a spare house key, maybe stitch it into a kids backpack or kept in a ladies purse.
I do like how the Kevo is now compatible with Nest. When I enter or leave it prompts me to set my house hold temp away/home status for heating. I would like the option to just disable the prompt after awhile and just set my status. Worst case I open the Nest app to override my status.
I'm very excited about the Kevo Pro to remove unlock/lock my place. However this add on product I have been on the waiting list for three months now.

Great lock needs a tweaking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned the lock for also 2 yrs, they have improved the firmware over this time. The one improvement that they could make is that to have the location service on it kills the battery on the phone. if they could have it work more like a starbucks that turns on when I'm in the area of the lock and then sleep when Im no where close.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Each App update, requires you to re-setup each family members smartphone to work with the locks. That is a pain. It should do the update with out requiring set up on each device every time.
