Best investment in my house so far... love this

The style is great and the touch sensor makes it very easy to get into the house if you are authorized, and for me to track the entry and exit of my house. The only issue is that my lock faces the afternoon sun so in the spring and summer the dark lock can get VERY hot. It still works great though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but needs a few tweaks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had two of these locks for a year and a half, and added a Kevo Plus gateway 3 months ago. I had read the ads which said that with this gateway, you could get notifications and know the state of the lock, from which I (wrongly) inferred that the gateway had the capability of alerting me any time one of the locks was opened. This isn't so; the gateway WILL tell you the state of the lock remotely if you log into the website and ask, but it WILL send a notification any time A SPECIFIC USER locks or unlocks it using their smartphone... if a mechanical key or one of the low powered Bluetooth dongles are used, it does not even show up in the history, meaning that a burglar with a good set of lock picks could come and go without any indication at all unless I happened to login can check while the lock was unlocked. Also Kwikset really should offer a double key option or variant of this lock; the ability to have a key on the inside that can be removed when leaving for vacation would make my home much more secure.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We actually received our lock from attendance at a TV show. We have had it installed for a while now and LOVE it!!! It is so convenient!! It is so great to be able to lock and unlock our door by just a touch. If you are considering getting a Bluetooth lock -- this one is SO easy to use!!

slow. Unreliable. Locks you out of your house

I have had this for just over 2 years. User experience is awful. Slow. Slow. Slow. Had it replaced once and still the same horrible behavior. It will lock you out of your house on a regular basis. The fix is to have your phone on you at all times. Which sounds reasonable but when you just need to quickly grab something outside it should not lock you out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great not to carry a key

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this bluetooth lock because when coming home in the dark it was real hard to get the key in the lock. With this all you have to do is touch the lock and it opens.

Getting better and is now quite useful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be honest I have had a lot of problems with my two Kevos, but most of the problems were in the beginning and things have resolved.
Initially the lock needed several tries to unlock and lock. With the software updates this is better and now it is probably one time in 10 that I need two attempts to lock and unlock. Not perfect, but much better than it was and clearly much better than an old fashioned key. Even my wife now likes the locks and that is not an easy thing to achieve.
I have been blaming Kevo each time there have been problems of cause, but I must admit that at least half of it was not related to the lock, but to the installation. Last month I had both locks giving problems locking and they only locked half ways and gave errors. I thought it was a problem with the lock and tried to resolve software and mechanical issues with the lock, but in the end it turned out that it was the door frame moving slightly - perhaps due to weather changes and a simple adjustment on the door made all work again.
Having had the lock now for almost 2 years and having tested many other options I can definitiely recommend Kevo as probably the best practical solution if you want to get rid of the bulky keys

Usually works, but....

Installation and setup were quite quick and easy. The lock usually works, but overall operation is slow and unreliable. I suggest keeping a key with you whenever you leave. The key fob has to be almost touching the lock to work, and, in two months, I have had to re pair it twice to work with the lock. When you unlock the door from the inside, you have to wait about 15-20 seconds before it will accept a "touch" to lock it. It's much faster. The app does not work with all android phones, not even some of the newer ones.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
