Works well sometimes

We have had this lock for a little more than a year. Our biggest compliments are the following: - When it works - it works well -It's a great ideal
The bad side - when we walk by the hall to the entry (the lock opens almost always) when we are not within 2 feet of the lock - it is almost impossible to lock it manually without it unlocking 3 seconds later
It is also very battery hungry and performs horrible when the batteries are low.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works like you'd expect; sensitivit a bit too high

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first Kevo about 14 months ago and my second Kevo (for another door) about 5 months ago. I love being able to not carry keys around and I've never had it mistakenly open on either door. My girlfriend and I use both doors multiple times a day. It even works through gloves (non-touch) which is amazing in the winter. The newest software update allows you to lock and unlock the door from your phone without actually touching it (perfect if you forgot to lock the door while you're lying in bed) which was my one missing feature.
Everything works exactly like you would expect, except for the sensitivity. My front door works fine mostly; however, even touching the door knob on the back door will sometimes trigger the lock to lock/unlock. I spent a good hour playing around, reinstalling it, and trying to improve it with moderate success. Perhaps it's just that one unit, but definitely something to look out for. I've also had issues where the door just doesn't unlock for some reason when I touch the ring. Often I just need to re-open the app on my phone and it works fine. Might be because my phone went into power-saving mode or something, but I haven't confirmed the cause yet.

Looks cool and works sometimes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do like the deadbolt. Although I would not want to rely on it. I still always carry the key. The main issues are the fact that if you accidentally brush it when using the key the deadbolt will sometimes re-lock. Or visa versa..you lock it with he key and accidentally brush against it and it unlocks. The reason I use the key at all is you cannot rely on the lock to work through blutooth 100%. Often you'll have to wait way too long for it to react or you have to retry to get it to work. Sometimes it just fails to work and you have to check the app. Cool idea but still has many inconveniences.

Reliable and Easy to Use.

It was easy to install, software updates made it very stable and reliable, and it's so easy to use that me and my wide simply forget that it's there. It's just part of our daily routine. When we traveled last year for vacation and suspected that one of our pets could have been left locked in our closet the feature that allows to send remote keys was amazing. We just called a neighbor, sent her a key and in a few minutes she was inside our home. After she left, the key was automatically revoked. I cannot compare with other products alike, but Kevo really delivers what it promises. We all use iOS smartphones at home, so the lack of an app for Android isn't a problem at all to us.

Great Concept/ Slow response

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lock thinking it would be easier when coming through the main use door with hands full. It is a great concept, but is slow to respond often times. The app has to be open on your phone to work the lock, not a problem once you get use to it, but then it often times says out of range and you have to pull the phone out anyway. When it does work it takes ten seconds or so to open the lock. It just isn't as functional as it sounds for the price. Maybe it would work better with just the key fob and not using the phone and app.

Quick and easy access when I need it.

Easy to install and easier to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this with the hopes of my entire family liking the ease of use and they did. The hardware installation is just like any other dead bolt install. The only difference is the post install program which was easy too. The software is intuitive and the improvements that have been made along the way just make it better and better. And since we all have iPhones, the fob is not used. Also great to monitor when the kids come and go.
