eKey entry is great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this product for about 18 months on my detached garage. It works great the iPhone always in my pocket.
Notes to consider: - this is only a deadbolt solution; to enter with eKey, the standard door knob will need to always remain unlocked. :-( - manual entry (with physical key) will not log lock/unlock in log (may be resolved with new gateway)
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Kevo 2 years ago and love it. It's amazing how much I am satisfied with the technology and security. You can give an electronic key to everyone in your family. Buy it you will never regret it

Initially liked, but becoming disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a year ago. Initially it worked rather well. The lock looks nice and does not appear different from standard lock until you get up close. Unfortunately, I have grown rather disappointed with the lock over the past few months. The recent software update now prevents my wife and I from both being logged into the lock so if she logs in, then I get logged out. If I have to pull out my phone to log in to the lock overtime I want to open it, then it is easier to just pull out my keys instead. In addition, the lock is less consistent with opening on the first tap and can take 2-3-4 taps now before opening. Overall, the lock works fine with my keys, but that isn't why i bought a bluetooth lock.

Still Missing A lot and falling behind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit when it first came out and I mean I was on the list preordered and waited several months to get it. I liked the features a lot and thought it was a great idea, However in the last 2 years a lot has happened in the smarthome world. I have all homekit devices with Lutron Caseta lights, Eve sensors and insteon outlets. I am very disapointed this device does not work with homekit. I am also disappointed that it will not work remotly without the kevo plus, which fine ok i have to buy anohter device but the problem lies in I can not buy it. I have been on a list to get kevo plus for almost a year, over a year I think. That is insane they have a product that they have made and some people own but I still cant get it. I thought kevo was backed by Kwikset not a 2 man operation in a garage handbuilding everything. I think the features and updates are slow rolling out and they are falling more and more behind. I dont think they can inovate anymore to keep up. Also the bluetooth does not work the best. My wifes phone iphone 6plus never seems to want to work. My phone works fine but hers is hit or miss. I am going to give them another month or 2 and hopefully the second gen will be out and I can get the kevo plus but if not I am moving on, It has been a nice 2 years kevo but I will get the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt or the August Smart Lock - HomeKit Enabled (Silver).

Great at first, but give it time...

I bought this lock in July of 2015, it worked great at first, but in the last few months has been starting to have issues with jamming open or closed. It works great in regular key mode, but anytime the internal motor is used it will jam in either open or closed positions. You have to turn the inside knob with great effort to get it to move, then it works very easily in manual mode. You cannot force it to work with the key, it will snap. I have taken it out of the door and lubed with dry graphite, it works smoothly until the motor jams. It is cheap parts that are the problem here. For the cost of this item I expected way better construction. I have tried the home position procedure but it doesn't complete, only does half then jams. I have not contacted support about this yet, but I have lost all confidence in this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a Kevo as soon as it became available. The lock has had no problems. I had to replace the FOB once because it failed. However, it was replaced free of charge. The software has improved significantly since I bought it. It's good now. There are a couple of issues that could be resolved. Sometimes, though not often, the software fails to record that that it has been locked. Once I was out of town when I looked at the record and it showed that the lock had not been locked. I frantically sent somebody to lock it only to find out that, contrary to what the record said, I had indeed locked it. The second issue is that the software does not record that the lock has been activated using a FOB. At the very least they could store this in memory and transfer the information once the lock is operated by a phone. The customer service is very good (and I have not mentioned these issues to them).
