1) you accidentally brush it and it locks/unlocks. Someone recommended a two touch feature, I second that notion... This happens all the time, very annoying.
2) It does not integrate with homekit/siri... Even after spending another $90 for kevo plus wifi... Missed opportunity in a big way.
3) Made me pay another $90 for kevo plus, after I already spent $200 on an over priced, under featured door lock just to get a feature that you should have put in the lock already. AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE KEVO PLUS WORK WITH HOMEKIT/SIRI?!?!
I would restore 1 star each for:
1) a double touch feature (or any feature that didn't make the accidental lock happen ALL THE TIME)
2) Integrate with homekit/siri
3) Refund my $90 for Kevo plus

Massive time saver.

This has been brilliant. I know who locks it, who opens it and when. I can issue and revoke keys at any time, from anywhere.
The technical support were fantastic and responsive.
This has saved me more in time than it has in cost. Which was honestly very realistic.
I'm about to install this lock in my house also, it's that good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Features just too sluggish

I have installed 38 of these in a condo building and when you want to unlock a unit you have to stand there and wait for it to register and unlock. Also quite noisy as it locks or unlocks. The ability of being able to send keys to others is great except they have to download the app to use your key. Would be nice if it was offered in polished chrome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to set up, easy to use. The convenience of being able to lock/unlock door with just touch is fantastic. Note: unlock isn't "instant" - it varies between 3-10 seconds depending on your phone's physical location (see below). Have been using lock for approximately 3/4 of a year in a cold and wet climate. Still on same set of batteries. Love the product, really wish firmware was updated to support WINK!
Pro tips: - Easier to install with two people (one to hold the hardware from the outside while the other tightens the bolts from the inside of the door) ~ 10 minutes. - if you have a 32" door with a glass insert you'll need to notch out about 1/4" from the glass trim to accommodate the installation of the hardware/battery compartment inside your home. - No need to use the calibrate option. - Key FOB is automatically paired to lock from factory. - Going forward, when unlocking, easier/faster if you have the device exactly where it was when you locked the door for the first time (I.E. in your purse/same pocket/same hand etc. as it guesstimates by the phone's actual location). - Disable power management for the KEVO app on your phone. - If after doing all the above, unlocking seems to be taking longer than before, try changing the batteries (use alkaline) in the lock.
Wishlist/features I'd like to see implemented:
HARDWARE - ability to select the colour of LED for various states. I.E. Green = locked (instead of currently unlocked); Orange/Red = caution for unlocked (instead of locked); Purple = thinking (instead of blue); Blue = Try again - ability to lock/unlock with Wink! instead of unnecessary and expensive KEVO Plus add-on (after all, Wink! hub supports total home intergration and has the required level of Bluetooth - integration is what folks want, not another gadget to place within close proximity, fighting for valuable power outlet real estate). - ability to specify double-tap (@ the lock, not the app) to avoid unlocking/locking accidently. - smaller footprint for inside hardware/battery compartment (so as to avoid having to notch out glass trim on 32" doors).
SOFTWARE - app doesn't report notifications correctly (published time of **event** in app notification doesn't match time of **event** as specified in email notification for Newfoundland time zone). I'm not referring to the time the email is received... I am referring to the actual time of the event. - app to work without having to launch it twice (first time just closes out, second time it works - Note 4 Edge as well as Note 5). - ability to sort/search history by date, time and person.

Notifications & Keyless

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second unit I've owned. I simply love this lock! The features and notifications are awesome. The ability to email gusts keys that have time limits also awesome. The lock is easy to install and once setup, works perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the features that this lock provides when it works. Occasionally the app does not connect over wifi. Bluetooth works well. One problem that we have here is that the deadbolt is close to the door handle and we occasionally brush the bottom of the Kevo and accidentally activate it. Wish only the top part of the lock was where a person would touch, not anywhere on the casing. Also wish it had a auto lock feature.

Often just doens't work with my phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this product since January and had limited success with it. Generally what I have found it that it just doesn't connect with my cell phone when trying to open the lock by touch. I usually have to dig out my phone and re launch the kevo app for it to work. I have re calibrated following the video several times with the same results. If the phone is in my pocket with the app recently launched it will work about 30% of the time. My wife has the same experience. I finally just put the bluetooth key on my ring, which I find quite bulky, and it works about 75% of the time. Still, I'm disappointed that it doesn't work as promised on the website. It is nice to be able to make sure the door is locked from bed though.
