Great upgrade from Gen1

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my generation 1 Kwikset lock with a new generation 2 Kwikset. Installation took about 5 minutes with little need to view the instructions. Once complete the lock synchronized to my iPhone app and the lock upgraded it's software. After that it worked great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love my Kevo's! 2nd gen is a NICE upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After purchasing a 1st Generation Kevo months ago, I quickly decided I needed another for the other door to my house. The ability to not have to take out my keys when trying to enter my home is amazing, especially when I'm carrying something. With a simple tap of the lock, the Kevo recognizes that my phone is in my pocket and quickly unlocks itself. It's truly a game changer. I also LOVE that I can lock and unlock my doors while inside my house by just using my phone. No more getting out of bed to make sure the door is locked at night. Paired with my Kevo Plus add-on (sold separately), I now have the ability to lock and unlock my house doors from anywhere in the world by using the wi-fi connection in my house. Additionally, the ability to track who is coming and going from my house is helpful. I am able to see who enters and when they come in. Installation is very easy. I had never installed a lock before and the instructions couldn't be simpler. The Kevo app offers a step by step interactive guide to make installing this product super simple.
The Kevo 2nd generation model is a nice little upgrade from its predecessor. The lower profile inside door hardware is great and looks much more elegant than the 1st generation. One of the great new add-on's for this generation is that you can assign unlimited e-keys to all of your friends and families. No more paying $1 each time you want to allow someone to have access to the lock. I also love how the 2nd generation Kevo is dramatically quieter when operating than it's predecessor. On the first gen model, the motor that would lock/unlock the door was noticeably loud. But with the new model, they have quieted it down quite a bit.
Overall I love the Kevo line and am so glad to have all of my house doors covered with this product. It offers a great service and makes life so much easier. Also, I love that the Kevo doesn't look like an electronic lock from the outside. It just looks like a normal lock and doesn't have fancy keypads or touch screens that might attract unwanted attention.

One touch, no key, great for kids, and guests.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lock because I don't need a key. My family all have smart phones with the app and electronic keys. When grandma picks up my kids from school I no longer worry if they have a key with them. My car is keyless too so I don't cary keys!
When guest come over it is a focal point upon entry, magic, no key, just touch the lock, Blue LED, and Bam it's open.
Installation was a piece of cake. Download the kevo app and it has a virtual step by step process. I never followed installation instructions like this. It was great, minimal reading, many pictures that help. These guys impressed me with the app instructions.
I always have my hands full with my lunch bag, gym bag, kids backpack, groceries, but I only need a finger to touch the lock. I love it, and others envy it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two of these, very convenient. The gateway makes it worthwhile, you can't beat the remote locking and unlocking. Being able to check the status of "DID I LOCK THE DOOR?" is great.

Could be better

Always I have calibrate my iPhone with my kevo to work correctly. But this problems could be fixed. I hope one day kwilkset fixed all problems and your app and products like Kevo work better than today.

Lack luster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple years ago, did all the updates. Ended up selling it. Reasons:
1) Kevo never updates their app to support any additional phones
2) The lock is intermittent at best
3) It takes forever to open when it works
4) Major battery drain
5) Kevo plus also slow to load

still can't use my cell as the key!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the kevo smart lock a few years now and even brought a Samsung Galaxy S5 to work that lock that says it will work it in the information and the app on my phone says that is not compatible with this version can anyone help me or know how to fix this problem?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have replaced every lock and lever set throughout our house, interior and exterior with quickset locks and lever sets, well over $1000 in replacement costs, including one Kevo lock. We have many geewhiz devices, we definitely are into the smart home stuff.
We are very pleased with the products we have installed from quickset but unfortunately the quickset Kevo lock has not met our expectations with performance, It is hit or miss as to working properly, often at times having to touch the lock multiple times before it will function and all too many times it has locked itself when we passed through without our keys, fab, or our cell phone leaving us locked outside, luckily we have a touchpad lock on another entry door.
We have gone through the process of trying to reset the lock, but this is has not help fix any of these problems. We have given up using it as it was designed and now use it only with a key.
