One year in Ive never been locked out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My biggest fear was being locked out. So far it hasn't happened. I do occasionally need to restart the app or the Bluetooth or is the app to unlock when tap to unlock fails. I also with it would warn you if you forgot to lock the door after a period of time. I'd recommend it if they add a HomeKit feature that allows locking the door remotely. their current bridge is too isolating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice when it works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the design and when it works. I on going on my 4th replacement (yes the forth - the fifth lock change) set to me by the manufacturer. I hope this on works consistently and properly. The have stood behind the warranty. If this does not have the bugs worked out. I will try a different lock.

Great concept, implementation needs work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It started because I got a car with keyless entry. It was great. Then I wanted keyless entry into my house. When this device works - it is exactly what I want. Unfortunately, it probably does NOT work more than it works.
By not work, I mean: It takes multiple touches to open the door. Sometimes, it just outright refuses to open, and I have to fall back to using the physical key. In the meantime, I've been sweating in my hot garage waiting to see if it would decide to open or not.
Also, given that keys are now electronic, Kwikset needs to do away with the cost for extra e-keys. I do not make nearly the use of some of the other abilities (namely sharing keys with others) because of this.
Overall, I DO like the Kevo, but they have got to come up with a better way to more accurately detect you when locking/unlocking.
I did some reading on the second generation Kevo, and even contacted them by email, but sadly, no information I received suggested the accuracy of detection was improved in the new device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great idea but wish it operated better

The convince is great but it can be too sensitive and turn the lock without even touching the cylinder. So some times it seems like it's not connecting. Also there is a short delay that can be aggravating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Bluetooth lock

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed multiples of this lock in my home and find that they are reliable and good working.
PRO: Easy to install. Works as advertised. Ekeys are a breeze to send and revoke.
CON: Had to also purchase the Bluetooth to Internet adapter so that I could lock and unlock when not at home. Would be great if this was integrated. The touch to unlock can be too sensitive. At a recent party at my house I ended up taking the batteries out of the lock as guests inadvertently touched the lock causing it to lock and unlock repeatedly. A more determined press and hold would have been a better implementation.

needs work

key fob works when it wants to, range sucks on android phone, pretty much have to set phone on deadbolt for it to unlock, , why cant I send an e-key link to a cell #?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because many times my hands are full and I have my keys in my pocket. With a touch my door is open and I am in my house. One item is I would love to see is the wireless key options worked with Android smartphones. I hope the next version of product does. Other than that it has functioned well.
