Works fairly well

The only complaint is occasionally I have to open the app to get the lock to respond...not often, but almost always when I'm in a hurry. My wife would say her purse hits the door on the way in and the lock activates...making you manually unlock it before closing the door to prevent damage to your door frame.

No more worrying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I no longer have to turn around to ensure I locked the front door. Most mornings I have a million things on my mind and can never remember if I locked the front door most days. I am able to check the app to see if its locked and if not, use the gateway to lock it without having to turn around and go back home.

Terrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a new home in May 2016. Bought this lock on back door. It has NEVER worked properly. We were constantly getting locked out of our home. Finally took the batteries out and just use it like a normal lock. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just Ok

I would rate this at ok, works good most of the time, sometimes not at all, have to wait for it to open or close. I don't like the fact that if you bump it by accident, it locks, we have it at out cottage and if I'm outside near it with my phone and it is busy weekend with many people around, if someone touches it by accident, it locks, should have a minimum contact time of 2 seconds to activate, this would eliminate this issue. Not an issue if there isn't a phone on the outside to allow it to activate. Otherwise It works ok.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No more digging in my pocket (most of the time)

Sometimes it is super quick and nice to use, other times you have to try multiple times for it to work and eventually dig in your pocket for your phone to open the app and unlock from in there or worse yet use your keys... Overall i am happy but it could be much better.

Kevo Bluetooth Electronic Lock

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this lock back in the summer and had some concerns of how it would function in our -20c (-4f) winters and if the batteries would hold out. So far I have not found any problems weather wise but occasionally when two fobs are in close area the lock tends to get confused (this is a known concern and easily rectified). This lock now completes my home automation by allowing control over the lock via my smartphone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome when it works which is rarely

One iPhone 6 works reliably, after finding the documentation to set the iPhone setting so it would work without the app being open. Another iPhone 6 doesn't work reliably even with this setting. Another iPhone 6 user wasn't willing to bear the cost of Bluetooth on all the time and so went back to using a metal key. It works fine for one family member with a Samsung Android phone. It worked 30% or so of the time for a family member with a Moto X phone which is admittedly not supported by Kwikset. Why not??? The key fob that came with it worked for awhile, but in a year, I have had to change its battery four times. Sometimes it works for a week at a stretch, but then I have to reset it with a pen to get it going again. The lock from time to time locks on its own without anyone touching it and often even when the person just leaving doesn't have any electronic devices with them. On several occasions this behavior has resulted in us being locked out of our own house. It has not yet erroneously unlocked. If it did, I would remove it and throw it away. However, the erroneously locking is very annoying. I have had a Nissan Leaf for a year and a half and its electronic key fob has worked flawlessly during that time. Perhaps Kwikset needs to hire their engineers to redo their electronics. I give this product two stars because it does work about 40% of the time. When it works, it is awesome. However, as soon as some similar product comes along that works nearly 100% of the time, I am ripping this thing out and trashing it!!!

Fun and easy

A few kinks, such as, if you touch the lock by accident you can lock yourself out! Sometimes it works when in my pocket or purse, but sometimes it doesn't. Overall, I love using my phone to open the door. Also, you can use the app to see if your family members have gone in or out if you like to spy on them!
