Doesn't hold up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kevo doesn't hold up, and tried 2 of them, had an issue with it locking and unlocking by itself, not good.

Could be better

Our first generation Kevo lock worked very well, until it jammed. We received this 2nd generation Kevo lock as a Christmas gift. We have updated the firmware to the latest level, but continue to have problems with opening the lock by touching it. I have found success by disabling/re-enabling the Bluetooth on my phone, but it is now much easier to use my key to lock/unlock it.

Key FOB battery problrms

Key FOBs work but the flat watch type battery has to be changed to often. Had product less than a 6 months & already had to change the batteries twice. Also glad electronic keys are now free but the guest has to download the app to use it. That can be a problem depending on the user & type of phone. Would be better to be able to go to a website link?

I love it when it works, but that is only half the time. It frequently requires many tries before it will unlock my door. My husband has even worse luck. But when it works, it's great!

The idea of using a device where I don't have to pull out my phone and can open it with a simple tap is amazing...IN THEORY. Rarely does this device work without the need for me to remove my phone, unlock it, load the app, wait for it to connect, finally unlock the door. It is extremely frustrating. I would love this product if it worked.
I have considered purchasing the 2nd generation, but fear I'll run into the same issues.

I have had this lock since Oct 2016. It works great at times and other times I have to touch it multiple times, get my phone out, or even open the Kevo app in order for the lock to respond. It's really irritating since the idea is to be a hands free device.
