Poor performance only 20 percent successful

I strongly believe in the idea of Kevo Keyless Locks so I bought two for the most used doors in my house. It is unfortunate that they only work 20 percent of the time. I hope they are able to improve the success rate of this innovative product.

Still a work-in-progress...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally installed this to run off my Android MotoX phone (RepublicWireless) and had to abandon this for my iPad instead.
Ocassionally, the fox will not unlock the door, even with new batteries in both and the fob inches from the lock.
Otherwise, I like the lock.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a professional contractor who has installed way more complicated electronic locksets than this one. This lock set has a mind of its own. It locks and unlocks by itself, most times without your phone even being near. On several occasions it has locked me out of the house when I didn't even have my phone on me. Luckily I had hid a spare key. I don't know if e one I got is a lemon but I'm definitely not buying another one to find out. Completely dissatisfied in this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this lock and feel it is basically useless. Now they come out with the ability to interchange with ALEXA which would make it a lot for useful. But they want $99.00 to upgrade. Not good!

Battery needs longer life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our son put this in because I was quit ill and we live in a second floor condo. The purpose was to be able to not have to go up and down the stairs to know when was at the door and to be able to invite them in. I love the concept but the battery does not hold the 6 months that was indicated so it is frustrating to have to charge it so often and I can hear on my phone but the ring in the house if your not near your phone is not nearly loud enough. Maybe we just don't know enough yet on how to stretch battery time and how to get better volume.

Does not work right

Since we bought our Kevo lock a few months ago, we have had problems with it, I have had to call and email for help. It will work for awhile, then something goes wrong again. Now I can't touch the lock from outside with my hand to unlock it, I have to get my iPhone out and do it from the app. I wish I would have bought another product instead of this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a similar lock from Black & Decker prior to this. It worked much better. It always seems that when my arms are the fullest it is hesitant to open. I also don't like that I gave to leave the app open on my phone in order for it to work. That being said, I guess it's still better than having to pull out my keys?

Lock will not open on touch every time from same location/distance despite product enhancements. If it is to be more convenient, dependable etc than a regular old key then it has to function.
