Great features

I bought this about a year ago for a house I had just purchased and have nothing but trouble out of it. It keeps losing fobs and disables phone apps. I have to reset the lock weekly and ready all fobs. I am very disappointed in it. I finally quit using it and went back to the other lock on the door.

Up to now the lock is frustrating because it often has to be calibrated to know whether the owner is inside or outside the door lock. The concept is good, but the use in practice is frustrating.

DO NOT BUY Kwikset Kevo 2nd Generation

I have two of these units and they rarely work as advertised. The touch to open feature is extremely unreliable. I operate them via the app and with the $25 Fobs (that should be included with original purchase) and both methods work about 50% of the time. The fact that you need to keep the app open in iOS in order to use the touch to open feature is incredibly frustrating. Find myself at the door fishing out my phone to open the app to open the door which takes longer than getting out a set of keys. Bought the fobs to fix this issue but they rarely work with touch to open on the first try. Usually get the spinning blue light and then try again. End up waiting longer than would with normal keys. I've reset the locks multiple times and paired again with fobs and phones. Doesn't fix. I've updated firmware and apps with promised "improvements," same issues persist. Extremely disappointed with this product and could not recommend to anyone.

Have had consistent trouble

I love the concept but have had consistent trouble. A lot of the time when I try to unlock my door by touching the Kevo lock, it just flashes red after searching for a few seconds. A lot of the time when I check the app on my phone, I am not logged in and need to put in my ID and password again to enable it. It is more convenient to just use a key. I don't want to have to remember another password and put in all the time. I'll read the instructions and FAQ again to see if there is something I'm doing wrong. But so far has fallen below my expectations for a $200 lock.
I do absolutely love that they started offering free eKeys beyond just the 1 free originally.

Horrible product

I bought the Kēvo lock when it first came out. WHAT A MISTAKE. This piece of junk has gotten worse and worse as time goes on. I spend more time standing outside my door waiting to get inside my house than you can imagine. I can only access the lock thru my iPhone the touch and fab will work maybe 1 out of 7 tries. I would not recommend this product at ALL

Lock locks & unlocks without connecting to app. Many times, I've walked through the unlocked door, and deadbolt engages before door is shut! Irritating.
