We bought this refrigerator mid 2017 and 5 years later stopped working. Surprised because my old refrigerator from another brand lasted me about 20 years.

Not worth it

I literally am so disappointed in this refrigerator! It came with the house that I purchased one year ago and I was assured that it was a great appliance and in great condition! It looks great everything is intact no scratches etc but the compressor just went out! I feel like I should have replaced all my LG appliances when I bought this house not just a stove which BTW was allegedly in great condition as well. I'm over it

Ice Maker :-(

The ice maker doesn't work well. I had been warned about the ice makers on the LG Refrigerators by others who bought that brand (different models) All 3 models have less than ideal ice makers. Ours is only 1 week old! If the ice maker is very important feature to you - you may want to choose another brand. It's beautiful and everything else seems fine - but....LG needs to look at this issue as it seems to be very common.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice production is extremely slow
Rust around the exterior door ice/water maker after only 18 months of use, was told this is a cosmetic defect and would not be covered even with purchase of extended warranty.

I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator 6 months after purchase. The freezer would not cool below 19 degrees and the ice maker would only make ice in ice plus mode. After having the motherboard, and the freezer door gasket, and the thermistor replaced the ice maker now does not make ice at all. The refrigerator is only 2 years old. I would highly recommend to avoid this refrigerator unless you want problems.

Good features but could have been even better

I purchased an LG stainless steel french door refrigerator about 3 months ago to complete my conversion from white to stainless steel appliances. My previous refrigerator was also an LG, white, and had the exact same dimensions so I knew this new one would fit in the space I had. My previous one was only five years old and did not have the ice and water dispenser on the outside like the new one. However, I feel my previous one had some features that are lacking in the new one. It had slide-out shelving instead of stationary shelves. I switched the shelves from my previous LG to the new one without a problem which makes things on the back of the higher shelves much easier to access for petite people. There's no reason the new refrigerator couldn't have had sliding shelves. The previous LG also had two gallon sized door bins on the right side and three on the left side compared to only one gallon size on the right side in the new one. That's quite a difference. It also had a handy small tilting rack in the upper front of the freezer drawer for frozen orange juice and other small frozen items. I also don't see any reason why the new one couldn't have this. I have no problem with the size and frequency of the ice cubes since I don't use ice too often. I never had any problems with the previous LG as well as the new one so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This refrigerator is a great addition to my kitchen and I think most people would agree!
I am constantly getting compliments about the size and look. Everyone that walks into my house and uses it loves it, including me! There is tons of space, the shelves adjust easily, you can adjust the humidity levels in the crispers with a simple dial. The freezer has tons of space, and a convenient pull out drawer for added storage and orginization.
The front pannel is simple to opperate to change settings such as ice type and temps. I also love the space saving ice maker and tray that fits right into the door of the refrigerator.
My only complaint would be that the ice maker doesnt make and store a ton of ice quickly.
Overall though, it is a great appliance! I love it!!
