[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this fridge for 9 years. I have not had a problem with it staying cold so that is good. However, the ice maker has broken and I can’t get the panel to fix it. Not sure if it’s discontinued or constantly out of stock. And the door stopper has broken which prevents the door from catching upon closing. This also is an impossible task to replace.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge a little over 3 years ago. It has been reliable. Remember to change your water filters and you will be good to go. We just had to change the water tank but I would say that this being the first thing in 3 years to go, we have made out well. The only thing I would change is the water dispenser. It is a bit confusing and many times our guests are not quite sure where the water comes out and it causes a bit of a mess on the floor till people realize where exactly the water comes out. Overall, I recommend this fridge.
We bought another LG refrigerator/freezer after owning a larger unit, which gave us reasonably good service for nine years. We chose LG again because it did not appear as cheaply made as many of the other brands. We've only had the new one (a smaller unit which should be enough for two Seniors), for about a week. Being Seniors we do not take to change very well. First of all the wrong Model # is shown above, probably from our old unit. A few things we'd like to comment on are that the unit is indeed smaller which requires more forethought in buying and storing. The external controls for the water/ice feature are confusing and do not work as easily as on the old unit, the feature does not have a large enough shelf in the door, and no liquid catch tray. For some reason, the handles of the plastic bins inside the refrigerator have been relocated from the top of the bins to the bottom; this is confusing and difficult to get used to. There are also not enough shelf placement "notches" on the inside of the cabinet.
