I bought this dryer because I recently bought the matching washer and needed to upgrade the drum size to keep with the washer. To say I am pleased is an understatement . Runs quietly and quickly. I love the steam options and the drying rack. I use it for my sweaters and other shirts I hang to dry. I wish I had bought it sooner!

I love how efficient this dryer is! I am so glad we made this purchase! I love all the features it has to offer and I have only used 4 of the features on the dryer! I can't wait to use the other features soon! next week we will do family pictures so I will try out the steam settings! The only thing I would change is making the chime louder and some instructions on how to connect my phone to the machines would be great!

On December 23rd 2015, my wife and I purchased the Samsung washer and dryer pair because we both knew what we wanted. You see we had already completed significant research on various models, but when we read the reviews on this pair...we knew what we wanted. The Samsung steam feature is what sold us. Our lives are not any more hectic and fast paced than any other family, but the steam feature with it's ability to freshen clothing and eliminate wrinkles when you are on the go was the clincher for us. This feature is phenomenal.

LOVE my new dryer

I have the matching washer/dryer set and I am loving it. This is my first purchased major appliance and I wanted to make sure that I bought a product I trusted and one that would perform well. I love the shoe rack feature, steam options and all the drying options. I have washed/dried blankets, pet beds, bulky items, and delicates...everything came out clean and soft. This dryer is also fantastic because it senses when the clothes are dry, cutting down on dry time and preventing burn damage to the material. I am VERY particular about how my clothes are washed/dried, which is why this product suites my needs well.
Pros: Bright display, energy efficient, pleasant tone for end cycle, customizable settings, dry rack for shoes, fast & efficient, attractive design
Cons: expensive

Great Dryer with Excellent Capacity

Got this dryer as part of a Samsung matching washer for Christmas. My wife absolutely is thrilled with it noting how now it dries a very large load of clothing just right and leaves clothing smelling great. She definitely preferred this platinum color after using an almond color laundry pair for about 13 years.
Pros: extra large capacity

I was expecting a super quiet dryer, but it makes this awful thumping noise. My laundry area is in my garage, but it is so pervasive that I can hear it anywhere in the house. If this can't be fixed, this dryer is going to be replaced with something else. The 'normal' noise that the dryer makes is about the same as the 15 year old dryer that it replaced, although it does have a lot more low frequency 'rumbling' noise, you can feel it when you put your hand on it. I think if you had this in a house, especially on a raised floor, it would be too noisy. Also there was a razor sharp burr on the drum seam, it tore up a towel that I used to test it. I sanded it down, and that took care of that, but I shouldn't have to be fixing a new dryer. Quality control anyone?
It smelled really bad when I first used it - like bad plastic. My clothes smelled awful, and I had to re-wash them. I had to wipe the drum out with alchohol, and run it on high for about 4 hours before I could use it. Even now the exhaust still smells faintly of plastic.
For me, there are too many settings. I mean, you're just drying clothes. But if you like automation and high tech, you will like this. There are enough choices to cover most situations, so you can just pick a setting and hit start. You probably will have to read the instructions, as many of the settings are not intuitive. For example, the default Normal setting only works at Medium temperature. You would think you could just make it Low, but you can't, you have to find another setting that will allow you to set a Low temperature. It has a few manual settings, which is great because I can just set a time and temperature. You can't change any settings while it's running like most dryers. If you want to add a few minutes, you actually have to stop the dryer, change the time, and then restart it. There is a drum light, I wish it stayed on indefinitely, but it shuts off after 5 minutes. I don't know why, it's LED, and probably uses almost zero energy.
The control panel is printed white letters on light gray, and it is impossible to read in certain lighting conditions, like those in a garage. Most of the buttons are touch sensitive (they don't click or move), except the Power and Start. Those are the membrane type, which I don't like because they eventually crack. Some items are not available in certain settings, but the button still chimes when you push it. For example, in the default Normal setting, you can't adjust the temperature - it is fixed at Medium, but you can push the Temp button and it chimes at you like it is supposed to change the temperature, but it doesn't.
The drum is huge, and you can effectively dry a ton of clothes. As far as the actual drying, it does a good job. It has plenty of heat on the high setting, and the low is low. The Steam function works well, and it takes the wrinkles out of clothes really well. The door works well, although it only opens to about 160 degrees; I was expecting it to open 180, and it almost broke when I swung it open the first time. It does not have a 'hard' stop, so you have to be careful. The glass is clear and makes viewing easy.
Connections are standard, and hookup is easy. The dryer connects directly to the cold water supply to enable the steam function. It comes with a Y connector and hose extension so you don't have to buy anything extra. The vent outlet is inset, which helps with wall clearance.
Pros: high capacity, looks nice
Cons: noisy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have only used this machine once so far and it was easy to use and great. The large stainless steel drum holds lots of laundry. My only complaint is the wash basin which is a great idea, but it makes it a bit difficult to add the detergent and softener!
Pros: large capacity
Cons: detergent and softener dispensers hard to access.
