Great Product, but Noisy

We've owned this for about 4 months now. We were hesitant about the French door option and being able to store as much as our old top freezer model, but we can store at least as much, if not more. We love the color (slate) and the features. The only two negatives are the noise and the inside water dispenser. The fridge makes quite a bit of noise when it is running. It's not overly loud, but it is noticeable. It's not just the compressor fan. It gurgles and clucks. Sometimes it makes a noise like I'm starting my radial arm saw.
The filtered water dispenser is inside, which is less than ideal from an energy efficiency standpoint. Whenever you want to use it, you have to stand there with one of the doors open while the glass fills.
All in all, it's a good product, it's just that it could be great if it wasn't for the noise. The noise isn't totally surprising as a leading consumer publication noted the same thing.
In the end, I'd probably buy it again because I don't spend a lot of time in the kitchen and when I do, I'm making more noise than it.

I find the bottom freezer to be smaller than my old one. I find the glass shelves inside seem to be weaker and not as sturdy as I would like. I find the vegetable bins grabber on the bottom of the drawer to be cumbersome - would rather they were put at the top part of the drawers. I find the lunchmeat/cheese drawer cumbersome placed too high to reach. Again, don't understand why GE did not make the high end appliances in the slate color.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my new fridge!

I did not think I could have a french door in my small kitchen, but the delivery guys figured it out and we were a fit. I love having everything at eye view. Love the granite color. Am getting ready to get a new stove/microwave.
