Great Machine for the Money

This machine does everything and is a great buy for the price. I would recommend this and all Brother printers. This is my 3rd one and I just keep passing them down at the office.

It Finally Works For Me--That's About All

I wanted to get away from ink-jet printers because I print primarily in black and white and have used laser printers in an office setting and have been favorably impressed. I wanted to be able to do two sided printing and copying and I wanted to be able to easily print envelopes. My needs are simple--printing, scanning and copying.
The instruction booklets leave much to be desired in terms of clarity on how to use the machine. Unless you've used a laser printer before, you may have troubles at the outset. The envelope feed is very, very tricky. If you don't do it just right, you get a jam message which requires you to open the front and take out the drum/cartridge assembly. Two sided copying requires for more paper handling than I would have liked. You either have to manually turn over the original or manually place two one-sided originals to get a two sided copy. I found that changing the cartridge was far easier than the instructions made it sound. I found the scanning function to be about as simple as can be. I've scanned stuff with no problems at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The duplex printing function is especially useful. Saves paper and provides less bulk in printouts. Be sure to buy the large capacity TN450 cartridges as they are more economical than the standard toner cartridges. The included Nuance PaperPort SE software, which is used for scanning and document management, is excellent. Very comprehensive functionality and very easy to use.

Excellent office addition

Have used Brother MFC lasers for several years in my insurance agency. Like the others the 7065DN is a great addition if you don't need the fax function. Easy set up and low cost printing. Use the multi-page scanning ability constantly and love the PaperPort software that comes with the machine. Only negative is that it wrinkles envelopes as does all of the Brother printers I own. If Brother could fix that it would be 5 stars!
