Ice maker problems

We had this refridgerator about 1 1/2 years when tyhe icemaker started to leak into the fridge and all over the floor. Had service co. out twice in two months . The third time he installed a brand new ice maker. Now two months later it has started all over again. Don't pass up your extended warrenty for this unit.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good fridge but a couple improvements needed

The fridge is reliable and well designed though there are a couple improvements needed:
1. There is no guidance offered on removing the bottom shelf above the water filter to thoroughly clean the fridge. We brought in a technician who told us we needed a special tool which was not included in the fridge purchase. Since it was under warranty, there was no cost but Samsung should put the procedure in the user's manual, a demonstration video online, and provide the tool.
2. The ice maker provides poorly shaped/broken ice cubes. The technician told us it was a design flaw and could not be fixed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

ICE MAKER HORROR

This refrigerator has the worse ice maker ever. Because of the poor insullation on the ice maker it causes moisture to enter the chamber therefore causing ice build up. I have had 2 repair visits and a hair dryer is used to defrost the ice and a tape to seal the side of the ice tray. The trouble not fixed. Every couple of weeks I have to use the hair dryer to defrost the ice build up and it works for awhile but the ice cubes are rough shape. No way of fixing it. I love the space inside but thats about it.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this fridge a little over a year ago. We are now on our 3rd ice maker as the 1st two have died and gone to ice maker heaven. Would not buy a Samsung fridge again just because of that.

Ice maker not a plus

We purchased this 7/2017 and within 6 mos we were having difficulty with the ice maker. It constantly stops working and we have to pull the entire unit out, reset it somehow, change the temperature and magically the ice resumes. The unit gets two stars due to the look, flex drawer, handles and versatility of the storage- all great features. However the ice maker brings down the rating tremendously.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poorly designed ice maker; beautiful refrigerator

I've had the refrigerator/freezer for for 16 months. The ice maker started "acting up" after about 6 months. The ice cubes had a rough surface after 6 months then ice started pooling under the ice bucket and would freeze the ice bucket to the frame. I started defrosting it with a hair dryer as needed (frequently) and I even took everything out of the refrigerator and freezer and totally defrosted the whole machine for 24 hours. Leaking water under the ice bucket started freezing again and within a few days, ice was building up on the bottom frame of the ice maker, causing the ice bucket to stick. This is the most expensive refrigerator I've ever bought and it is a beautiful design, but the ice maker is not the same quality as the rest of the machine. I will never buy another Samsung refrigerator/freezer with ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nothing but problems

I bought this over a year ago and right away had problems with the ice maker, it kept freezing up. Then at the one year mark the refrigerator quit. Had to wait a week for a repair person and after extensive troubleshooting they found the entire back panel had froze and stopped the cooling motor. After defrosting it and supposedly "fixing" the ice maker we were back in business. Ice maker froze up again 2 weeks later and has done that ever since, sometimes in a week sometimes in two. Now 8 month later we are hearing the same sounds from the motor that we heard before it quit. time to call for repair and to look for a new refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Worse Quality Fridge Ever

I bought the fridge in November 2016. Samsung changed the compressor in November 2017. They changed the ice maker in January 2018. They serviced the ice maker in June 2018. Today (11/10/2018), the ice maker does not work anymore.
