i had this refrigerator since 2017 and had nothing but problems with the ice maker very disappointed with samsung appliances.

Great refrigerator if you don’t like ice

the unit is beautiful, however the ice maker only works for a few months then freezes up. we have to buy bags of ice for our guests when hosting events.

Great looking and functional

We love the counter depth size. Great use of space and lighting. Gurgling sound of compressor is a bit loud and can be annoying. Cubed ice will sometimes come out partially crushed, so we put ice into bucket in freezer.
Pros: Bright display, lighting
Cons: noisey

Pretty as a Picture!

My wife fell in love with the Samsung 4 Door French/Side-by-Side Refrigerator when she first saw one on a Korean Soap (English Subtitled version) either late 2013 or early 2014. She said she was going to get one when they offered a cabinet depth version. Samsung introduce the cabinet depth version at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the Spring and we purchased one for our home. Cabinet depth refrigerators line up nicely with 24" dept of US cabinets but they have much smaller capacity than standard depths refrigerators so we purchased a side-by-side in the Utility Room to augment. The Samsung 4 Door French/Side-by-Side Refrigerator certainly is pretty as a picture...
Pros: Bright display, Durable, cabinet depth, looks high end, feels high end
Cons: small capacity

Ice Maker is Worst Ever

We've had ongoing ice maker issues since about 6 months after purchase. If you search this issue, you'll see many people reporting the same thing. The ice maker doesn't stay cold enough to keep ice frozen, and it also leaks and drips. I constantly have to work to remove ice from under the tray and icicles hanging from the top. Ice cubes are rough and small from accumulated ice in and around trays. I would not recommend this product until they fix this issue.

Worthless Ice Maker. Service call pending

the maker is in the refrigerator. it ejects out the top and side where the cubes get backed up, partly thaw, then freeze to block any more production. has to be cleared manually every few days.

Disappointed and nobody to blame but myself

My wife and I did a kitchen remodel and without really thinking in detail, chose this unit based on it's fantastic looks and counter depth design. It was installed 2 days ago and now that we're using it we really see the shortcomings. I wasn't thrilled with the freezer on the bottom but my wife wanted it. If you're considering this unit I can tell you that the storage is inept. For example, if you're into buying family size frozen pizzas from the grocery store you can forget about it as they will not fit in here.
The storage "bins" in the upper left section are so small it's laughable. You literally cannot fit anything other than maybe a box of Milk Duds in them. If someone could tell me what purpose they serve I'd be amazed.
But all of these issues are minor compared to the absolutely pathetic ice maker compartment. The entire ice bin doesn't hold more than maybe 4 or 5 drinking glasses worth of ice. If you're having any kind of party it simply will not make enough ice so plan on going to the store to buy ice. The only problem with that is that a normal sized bag of ice won't fit in the freezer.
If I could return this item today I would. I'm not anti-Samsung and like I said, we have no one to blame but ourselves but this unit is horrible mostly due to the ice maker.
Pros: looks great, slim design
Cons: Did not meet expectations, horrible storage, ice maker is pathetically small

Compressor lasted 2.5 years

We redesigned our kitchen through Home Depot and purchased all new Samsung appliances. Overall we have been pleased but the refrigerator section stopped cooling. Freezer still works. Both compressors is running but only cools the upper compartment down to 50 F. We are currently trying to get it repaired and hope the warranty is honored. It's a shame that we paid so much for this product and only got 2.5 years of trouble-free use.
Also water leaks underneath the veggie/fresh food trays. Think it may have something to do with the filter system.
We know that everything isn't always perfect and figure if they correct the issue we will update our rating of this product.
Pros: nice appearance
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
