After having my Sony HD-CX405 video cam nearly a month, I have not stopped using it. The interface is extraordinary. The mobility feature makes using it easy in any situation. I use it to film many events, indoor and outdoor waterever the lighting situation you have to deal with, this handy cam has you covered.
I use it to film my church services, the results are astounding in the picture quality. The ability to zoom in and out are smooth and with professional results. And taking still photos are easy and with high quality results.
I only wish I had bought one sooner

Stops recording randomly.

I liked most everything sbout this camera but over 4 times as I was recording the screen turns off and the recording stops after only a few minutes of recording. I always have full charges so im pretty sure it is not a battery issue. I have to fold the screen down and close and then reopen the lens to try to get the screen back on and then try to press record again. Sometimes even then I have to try to restart it all together. I do not move the camera much when recording either so I don't think a loose flip screen sensor or ill-fitting sd port either. Idk. Maybe mine is just defective. I would like support to contact me on this matter as well.

Hi Htown878, We're so sorry to hear about this. Please check the settings for the backlight of the LCD monitor and the power status of this Handycam, press MENU- [Setup] - [General Settings] - [Off]. Then replicate the issue.

Very excited to learn about this camera. I wish the included instruction booklet had a bit more detail about how to use all camera features as I am an absolute newbie to camcorders. I also wish it came with a memory card. Overall, it is easy to use. I think it's a great starter camera.

Good product - does as it's advertised. The wifi hardware is built-in I guess but does not have firmware. It should come with the wifi feature.
Sony, this is cheap, that you have built the feature but has not enabled it in this model, for that we have to go to the higher model.
I would recommend this to a friend!
