circuit trips

I thought I had the circuit trip issues dealt with after a year of warranty delays. In the end I paid for an electrician twice and just had another trip that I will have to pay for again. I don't understand these continuing problems. It is very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Double Oven

I searched long and hard for the perfect range for our new home. Through much research we decided on the GE CAFE double oven. Well let me tell you: the range has a lock feature where the kids are not able to turn the oven on or the eyes. The LOCK feature turns off the gas so when the little ones are playing with the knobs or board no gas will turn on PERIOD. I can rest a sure my grandchildren CAN"T turn on any parts of the oven. YAY!!!!
I love the double oven because it allows me to bake at the same time in one part and cook any meat in the larger oven. Greatest feature your bake goods don't taste like the meat you are baking. Imagine that :)
When you cook in the smaller oven, the only oven that heats up is the smaller oven. That's a savings on my gas bill. It work so great I had to put my toaster oven in storage.
Those of you who enjoy cooking, you'll love the grates that allow you to use large pots n skillets to cook at the same time.
You will get a treat purchasing this oven. I have no complaints. I enjoy cooking again.

Not so great

I always wanted double ovens and this looked great. I had a convection electric oven with gas range before this for 14 years. My cookies always turned out great in my old convection oven. But this GE oven was disappointing.
1. The cookies got burnt- even using the convection feature
2. We had to replace the Oven lights twice in two years.
3. The upper oven gets heated up when the lower one is in use.
4. I could bake three racks of cookies in my old oven, this one will take only two rack.
5. It comes with just one rack in each oven.
6. Volume seems to be less -even in the big bottom oven
7. I end up using the bottom oven most of the time - since it has more space. I can't imagine bending down each time when I'm in my 60s or have arthritis or knee issues.
8. The front controls are very sensitive. Often, I have leaned over to use the back burner and started off the Oven controls!
9. A number of times, I started the lower oven when I had the casserole to cook in the top oven! You have to be careful.
10. I had Scratch marks on the cook top after the first month of use. I use it so carefully.
11. I do most of my stove top on an induction cooktop (so this range is not used at all except the ovens!).
Overall, I am very disappointed. It is very expensive and I'm not happy with my baking. I don't recommend this oven. It looks great on the pictures for those who want the look of double ovens.

Beautiful Range

I bought this two weeks ago and it looks and works beautifully. I love the double ovens. It is also easy to clean. The stainless steel knobs are a big improvement from my previous range that had plastic coated knobs that were peeling apart.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought the Cafe stove five years ago . I'd rather write a review five years later than five weeks later . My wife does the cooking but I'm involved in the process . She loves it . The food is done in the correct amount of time . We bought a free hanging thermostat to to double temp . it was right on .

Has some quality control problems.

Put this stove in service 6 months ago. Top of stove ie the burners, are perfectly level both directions but the ovens are not. Front to back an 8 inch cake pan will provide content 1/4 inch thicker on front.
The oven temperatures vary as much as 50 degrees Fahrenheit. After a raw roast and then an over done turkey we now constantly monitor oven temperatures with an oven thermometer and meat probe.
