Good Value, Double Oven in a 30" Range
on June 3, 2014

We purchased this range one year ago (5-21-2013) and have been pleased with its performance and its look in our newly updated kitchen. It works well. One area of disappointment is the GE's use of plastic escutcheons "skirts" for the metal control knobs. We found out the hard way that one cannot broil with the oven doors open as we used to do on our previous range.....the paint used to simulate the SST finish crinkles due to the heat from the open oven door (the manual advises to broil with the doors closed) GE should have used cast metal escutcheons. Using metal would have cost a bit more, but would have been a longer lasting choice on a range that mimics the look and feel of the more expensive professional SST ranges.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not What I Expected

Spent good money on this and it performs "minimally well", but it is extremely difficult to keep clean and looking new (I cook every day). The top scratches easily (i.e., a grain of kosher salt wiped with a paper towel when cleaning will scratch the top). Really GE? Can't you make something a little bit more sturdy for people like me who actually cook and just don't want a showpiece in their kitchen? The ovens are not consistent and are not calibrated for LP (we live in the country)...they are only calibrated for natural gas. The top should be made of something much more durable, like black enamel, but with the same BTUs. Also when I use the self-clean, the inside of the oven windows STILL do not come clean, and we are not supposed to use any type of oven cleaner (per GE), so what am I to do??? It looks like junk and it's 6 months old. It looks like junk. Poor design, GE. I expected more of you.

Still new-three times

Just registered this appliance today so I will give GE some slack. Only used the upper oven so far and the cook top. I am VERY particular how I take care of everything I have (my GE 1973 toaster oven looks brand new and works every day). So disappointed in the fact the upper oven bottom coating is coming off! I use a "soft-hands" dishwashing soap and the bottom just started flaking off! A cookie sheet was used and also tin-foil to cover the new bottom before the pizzas went in and the tin foil seemed to "stick"...so I soaped it up (along with the coating!).The oven won't be used again until after GE has an opportunity to correct this issue. 2. The stainless scratches VERY easily and I will find out if it can be buffed out. 3. I am almost average female height (5'3") and the cooktop is about 3" too deep for the rear burners but it is worth it too have the front controls. 4. It is beautiful and I hope GE will fix these issues BEFORE we install the new GE over-the-range microwave.

Faulty and broken twice in less than 4 years
on December 23, 2016

I will be looking to replace my less than 4 year old oven. Twice now, the deflector pan has warped and ruined the ignitor for the bottom gas oven (coincidently both times on a day when I was having holiday company). The first time GE took care of the issue, I will see what happens this time whenever they get back to me. Very disappointed in this obviously faulty oven.

Ovens are a disappointment
on May 31, 2017

The cooktops perform as expected. The upper oven always burns the edges of whatever is placed on the racks. The oven has heat slots on the left and right sides of the oven which direct superheated air directly under the left and right edges of cookie sheets or sheet pans. This burns whatever is being cooked. The lower oven, while convection is so low that for it to be the primary oven makes all oven cooking more effort than its worth.

Never buy GE CAFE, Not worth the expense. If you are planning on replacing it in two years then go right ahead. THERE IS NO INTEGRITY IN THIS PRODUCT.

Need attention to detail

Got this model because I liked the features. I did find a few items that need some attention in assembly. Oven gaskets not properly seated as on clips in the corners were attached. This could account for the complaints of hot knobs as the upper oven is right below the knobs.
