It can't stand the heat and should leave the kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was expected to be the crown jewel in my kitchen remodel, one major flaw sours the whole experience. On Thanksgiving, just under two months of installation, the ring around the control knob shriveled. The part is made of plastic and the use of the upper oven conducted more heat then it was able to handle. The panel in which the control knobs are attached also seems to get extremely hot. I try to minimize the use of the upper oven because I worry it will happen again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good, but install could be a problem

I love the look and feel of this stove. It's gorgeous, works very well and is the jewel in the kitchen. That said, the architecture of the back panel leaves something to be desired. Our gas supply line came out of the floor on the right side of the stove cavity, but this particular unit is designed only for the gas line to come out of the floor on the left. We had to pay a guy to come out and move our gas line out of the way on order to not have a 4-6" gap behind the stove. Even so, we have about a 1" gap today, and that's after installing a recessed outlet to get the plug out of the way. You may want to check the placement of your gas line before purchasing.

This stove is a nightmare

I have had to have the stove repaired multiple times. I've owned it since 2014 and have had nothing but problems with uneven heating. Currently the bottom oven is not working

Ignitor burns out after 2 years

I bought this 2 years ago and the ignitor burned out. Apparently, the ignitor sits to close to the deflector and cracks. We have an inch whole burned through the delfector. After reading this is apparently a common problem that is occurring.

Worst oven I have ever owned

I bought this oven and (thankfully) the 5 year warranty. The igniter breaks every 3-5 months. It was replaved under the warranty two years ago, after breaking the day my daughter was having a birthday party with a dozen friends coming over for a bake-off birthday party. The Thanksgiving turkey had to be roasted in the top oven. No Christmas cookies that year either. The top oven is useless for even baking. Finally after many repair attempts the oven was replaced. And now we have the same problem with the new oven. Constant repairs to the igniter. It seems the deflector cannot handle the heat and burns a hole which causes the metal to disintegrate and break the igniter. Will never buy a GE product again. Design 101 should indicate making sure your oven materials can handle heat

Great until it stops working

After two years the bottom oven will not light. It seems that many people are having this same problem. Design flaw.... probably. I have loved this thing until now. Now I have to spend more money to get it fixed and in the meantime I am out a lower oven. Good thing I have a backup! But how long will the top oven continue to work.....?

Of course it is a little more maintanence, but it is worth it.
We have had it for just a few months, but I have no complaints. When I use top oven, you can't even tell that there is an oven on. Great for hot Texas summers.

Great features with easy cleanup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our new GE Cafe double oven range. The double oven is great. We use the upper oven for heating small items and it cuts down on gas usage and doesn't heat up the kitchen as much. The stainless steel top cleans up the best of any stove we've owned. My husband loves the grille in the middle. The high output burner boils water FAST. Can't wait for Thanksgiving to use the probe with our turkey.
I would recommend this to a friend!
