Great Stove!!

I absolutely love the stovetop ... but the ovens are still a challenge for me. The top oven which is the easiest to use is a dial temperature adjustment which is not very accurate and the bottom oven has convection and regular with digital temperature setting. I bought oven thermometers to check the temps and the thermometers read less the the actual set temp, but things seem to bake properly with the actual set temp of the recipe. You must rotate food halfway through as the back of the oven is hotter than the front even with convect on. I am still trying to figure out the best way to use the oven. I wish the digital oven was on top and the dial temp on the bottom. All in all, it is a nice product, but for the price I would think I would not have these issues with the ovens.

Great oven I love it! The burners and griddle are easy to use and clean. The smaller upper oven is great if just need to cool on one level i.e. cookies or pizza.

Nothing but headaches

I purchased a new kitchen and purchased the GE Cafe Line of Appliances 11/2014.
What a mistake! The 5 Burner double oven Gas Stove Model CGS990SETSS burners have never lit properly. I have had 3 service calls and replaced burners. When I purchased the appliance there were 3 items on the convection oven that did not work at all. They replaced defective parts and worked on the igniters. They are now informing me that the fact igniters still don't work and the control module is not functioning again is not their problem. After an hour on the phone again they have offered to pay for defective parts and I have to pay for service call, Labor and take yet another day off of work. FYI..they give you a 4 hr window and sometimes make it.
I wish I would have known this before considering GE and the Cafe line. The microwave did not work at all and the dishwasher (well that's an entirely different sob story)

Horrible - DO NOT BUY if you like to bake!

Ovens heat isn't uniform, horrible for baking! Igniter went out and caused the control board to short and lock the bottom oven. No way to get into it without replacing the control board. On my 3rd control board in 3 years! Sucks!

Great Range, Bad Design

I bought this product about 3 months ago and really enjoy it in my home. However, the super boil burner is directly under the microwave and the handle gets extremely hot! The microwave handle is plastic, not stainless, so I imagine it is going to either melt or become damaged very soon.

Lots of issues

When we first got this cafe range oven I loved it, it’s beautiful and sleek. Before the two year warranty was up it started acting up. the oven control panel was not working in the middle of me cooking I would have to open and close the oven doors before the touchpad would react to me. It would also turn off the bottom oven if I opened it to check on the food so GE sent repair people and they replaced the control panel, the same thing still happens occasionally and it is very frustrating. The control panel itself has a design flaw, if you open the oven door and moisture comes out from the food you’re cooking the touchpad will not work until you dry it off and let it cool for a minute. This double oven/stove unit has also multiple times stopped working all together I was using burners and both ovens and the oven wouldn’t finish preheating the burners weren’t hot we had to reset the oven and it would work again but that has happened multiple times and in the middle of cooking when it stops heating you can’t really tell until it seems like things have stopped cooking all the lights and things stay on. Out of the 4 elements on the stovetop only the front right has ever worked well the others take forever to heat anything and it is very noticeable.
Now it’s been about 3 years and that element has stopped working and the hot stovetop light won’t go off. I am extremely disappointed in this appliance I would expect it to last at least 10years but I don’t know if It will make it 5.

Bad Fit- not flush

My big issue is this range, while beautiful, roomy, and seems to function just fine- will not fit flush against the back wall! Their is essentially zero clearance to accomodate gas supply. Through spending some additional money we were able to get the range about 3/4 inch from the wall but no closer. Bad Bad Bad Bad design! My other issue is that we still can't get rid of the plasticy smell when running the oven. Final issue is the vent- it blows extremely HOT air out over the burners.

Looks great in my kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range is probably one of the best looking I've seen (and I have seen a lot). It looks fantastic in my kitchen. The stove is great, it heats and cooks really well. The griddle is a nice to have as well. The oven, however, I have had a few issues. The bottom oven seems to do great, but the top one the temperature settings seem to be off. For example, if an item calls for 375 degrees for 20 minutes to cook, it is not cooked in that time period unless I turn it up to right at 400 degrees.
Overall, I really love this range, I just need to get use to how the top oven cooks.
I would recommend this to a friend!
