We wish the product was more reliable and that the finish was more robust. Just okay...not happy.

Terrible Range

I have had this range for 2 1/2 years and I truly hate it. . The back burners have so little power it can take forever to boil a small amount of water. The two front burners though more powerful have the flames shooting out awkwardly. I have very good stainless steel pots and pans with heavy duty bottoms. The flames shoot out at the sides of the pans, even the large ones and burn the sides of the pans , hence, the food cooking at the sides are always burned. The ovens are terrible. The top one is very undependable sometimes too hot and other times too cool. The broiler is poor, food put in the middle overcooks and nearer the edge don't get broiled at all. The bottom oven is very uneven overcooked at the back undercooked near the front. Perhaps the worst part is the touch sensitive panel. Leaning over the range to stir a pot it is fairly common to shut off the oven. This has happened more times than you can imagine with more meals being ruined because of it. The stainless steel is thin and scratches horribly. I have a son who is a chef and he thinks this range is the poorest he has ever worked on and that includes a 20", 50 year old electric one. I am so disappointed and have started to look for a new one to replace this one.

I researched ranges for a year as we built our new home I decided this was my dream range after reading endless reviews. Now, a year and a half later, I no longer bake. Why? Because my "dream range" burns the bottom of almost everything I bake, while the insides remain under baked and the tops (in the case of pizzas and similar items) are frozen. I have to turn on the broiler to cook the top of a pizza after the bottom is already black. I can't express my disappointment enough. I dreamed of new kitchen appliances. Little did I know I would be stuck with an appliance that keeps me from doing simple things like baking cookies for my kids. The cooktop, however, is AWESOME. Go figure.

Lower Oven Quit- DO NOT BUY!
on September 16, 2016

DO NOT BUY!!! Purchased 2 years ago, and the lower oven hasn't worked in a month. We've had it repaired by a Sear's professional two times in the last month. Oven kept blowing the circuit breaker, so we paid an electrician to put the stove on it's own breaker. Just repaired on Tuesday, first time we tried to use it, blew the circuit breaker, and lower oven AGAIN no longer works. We've had 2 igniters replaced in the last month out of WARRANTY and now need a 3rd igniter replacement!! Obviously something beyond the igniter is a bigger problem. DO NOT BUY THIS RANGE!!! This HIGH priced range should last for many years, NOT 2!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!

Love the small oven...
on May 29, 2017

I have had my range about 2 yrs now and noticed a couple of quirks that may only be relevant to my unit:
1. Getting anywhere near the electronic panel in the front - not touching it mind you, may cause the oven light to go on, or it may just beep.
2. Cooktop burner grate is not completely level on the front right side - not so much that the pan rocks (though it does a bit), but enough to show that oil in a fry pan is deeper on one side.
3. Also if you do not reset the burners perfectly after cleaning you will get too much flame on one side - something to watch for.
4. For a slide in range there should be more recess space for the gas valve. My unit sits 2 1/2" away from the wall - which might just be a good place for a shelf. Just something to consider for where you want the plumber to put the valve.
It seems counter-intuitive to me to have both the smaller burners at the rear of the stove. The larger simmer burner should be in the back and one of the smaller ones in the front, else you will be reaching over a large pot to get to the small one.
Wish List: Enameled grates. I had mine enameled by a 3rd party who restores old stoves and they are fantastic to clean and look great too. Cost about as much as purchasing new grates, but worth it to me.
Bottom line? I still love my new range - but maybe a designer will read this!

We had a basic gas stove and oven when we built our house. A few years later and we replaced it with this double oven. We love it!
