Love, Love, Love this range!!!

I absolutely love to cook and had always wanted a gas range. After looking at reviews, I had no doubt that this would be the one I would purchase. Even though it says dual fuel, it is primarily gas except for the convection feature. I had never used a gas oven but it is amazing to cook with!! The cake I baked using the convection oven came out better than I could of dreamed!! Even though the lower oven is low...the slide out rack makes it easy to use. I love the top oven which cooks perfect...just use a little lower temp for pizza to keep the crust from getting too brown. The grates on top make for easy clean up and the griddle is an extra plus. I would highly recommend this range for anyone who loves to cook!!

Great Looking Unit

So far, so good! Looks great, works great. I have the natural gas unit, and really like the power burner feature for boiling big pots of water, it makes it boil really fast. Nice split oven, no problems so far. Only complaint is that the door hinges seem cheesy, cheap. Not sure exactly why, you'd have to experience it yourself. Not a big fan of the pull-out rack on the bottom oven, either. It's clunky, hard to clean and not necessary. Oh well, that's all the bad, rest is all good! Nice unit.

I love this gas range!

I've owned this range for three years, have cooked and baked all kinds of delicious food, used all of the features, and it still looks and works like new! It cleans up beautifully. I purchased gas ovens, but now wish I had purchased electric as the gas oven temperatures really fluctuate and this isn't good for baking yeast breads, cakes. After checking/tracking oven temperatures with two good oven thermometers, both ovens were running cooler than the true temperatures. This can be adjusted, just a hassle.

I think it is ridiculous to be in love with an oven but I'm in love with my oven. Use the top for cakes and casseroles and the lower oven for bigger dishes. It works wonderfully. The ONLY thing I would change it the burners knobs with the red dot. They should dim when OFF. Red means off. Multiple times if I have been simmering a dish on low, I thing the burner is off when it is not. There should be some type of appearance change in the Red dot when off. That way, very quickly, you could see the burner is, indeed, off. Just a suggestion.

Gas Range Best GE Product Purchased

My wife and I purchased GE's Gas Range and have yet to have an issue with it! It works great and provides many different methods of cooking. She is the chef but because of the great appliance from GE, I have taken up cooking too!

Love the oven, except the ignitor issue

First, I have to mention that I absolutely love the look of this oven. I bought it almost 4 years ago when we moved. I had previously had a GE ovens and they worked great. I needed a 30 in double oven to fit in our new house so I went with this model. I have 5 kids to cook for so it gets quite a bit of use in my house.
In my opinion, here are the pros and cons of this model:
Pros: Love the gas burners. They work great. And like I mentioned previously, the range is very appealing to look at. Also, I do appreciate its features. And the pull out rack is great.
Cons: The top oven does not cook evenly. The edges burn. I would not recommend baking cookies or bread unless you watch it closely and turn them partway through. It works fine for potatoes, casseroles, etc.
The bottom oven has had to be repaired twice in the last four years. It just stops working. I realize I do use it quite often but I think its a bit of a quality issue with the ignitor. In my opinion, it should not need to be replaced every two years.
Also, and this is more of a cosmetic thing but the bottom of the knobs melt from the heat of the oven. They appear to be metal but are not. Not really a big issue though as you don't notice unless you are looking up from the floor.
And, last but not least, I do love the lock feature but I wish it was also available when the oven is on. My 1 year old likes to walk past it and push buttons. She has turned it off more than once without my knowledge and we've had to wait for dinner! Just a suggestion for future models.

All in all, I do like the oven and would love to recommend it, with the exception of the ignitor. I love to use the range and do enjoy the double ovens. But I think GE should consider doing something about the ignitor issue. At a minimum, reimburse for the cost of a replacement one, even when out of the warranty period.

Great Great Great!!!

I am so happy with the purchase of my Cafe oven. It has features that the high priced stoves do at about half the price with no difference in quality. I am amazed at how low the burners go for perfect simmers and how fast the quick boil works. Too bad the store floors do not hook these up so one can see how well the burners work before purchasing. Best stove I have ever had!
