Beautiful, powerful, and adaptable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So great to finally have a range & oven that lets me cook how and what I want; very flexible. I had Eggplant Parmesan in the top oven and 2 cookie sheets convection baking in the bottom oven.... at the same time! Power burners; wow. I don't have to saute' in small batches anymore out of fear of overloading my pan and having it cool down and simmer like on my old range. My 15 yr old gas burner was only 9,000BTU's. Big difference and a lot quicker with 20,000 BTU's. So far, we've noticed a big improvement with the convection baking too. Only problem so far, is now my old dishwasher and refrigerator look really REALLY bad.

We installed a GE Café Gas range with Double Ovens 8 weeks ago in our remodeled kitchen. It performs well, is easy to clean and has the look of high end SST Ranges. However we found out that you cannot Broil with the Oven door open (as we did with our previous electric range) and as the Manual advises against because it will cause the control knobs to become very hot and it will ruin the escutcheons ("skirts") of the knobs, because these rings surrounding the metal control knobs are made of painted plastic, not Stainless Steel. GE chose to make these elements of plastic instead of metal at a highly used and visibly important location on the range. If the range cannot have cast stainless escutcheons around these control knobs, at least it could have had cast zinc escutcheons with a painted surface to mimic the SST look which would have been much more durable.

Excellent cooking results

We love this stove! The consistent temperature is a dream after using an electric stove for many years. The cooking results are far superior to our previous stove. It is easy to use and much more economical to run than an electric stove. Also it had the features we needed - double oven and low profile back.

Great Function and Modern look

I purchased the GE Cafe about 6 weeks ago. It made an older kitchen look very up to date. Moreover, the 5 burners are very easy to use. Maybe the best feature is the broiler which is the upper oven making it much more accessible for us older folks. The controls are safely in front of the burners, not behind where you must reach over the burners to adjust.

Just what we were looking for

Our new gas range was installed last week. It looks great. My husband and I researched a of different gas ranges. The GE Cafe had the best combination of professional features vs eveyday usage. Its user friendly however we haven't even begun to utilize all of its features and the dual oven feature is fantastic. The only down side is that now I have to update the rest of the kitchen!

Awsome Range

We just got our new GE Café Double Oven gas range after a brief back order slowed delivery. Ordered before Thanksgiving for the big day, but didn't get it til Dec. 19...Well worth the wait. While I' still learning all the features, I cooked a terrific Christmas dinner of Beef Tenderloin (used the probe for perfect results). The ovens allowed me to get all my sides done at the same time as the beef! The burners on top rock. We used the griddle for pancakes on Christmas eve. It cooked evenly on the oval center burner and cleaned up quickly.

Great Looks Bad Workmanship

After two weeks of use the lower oven door falls apart. Apparently the screws holding it together are missing.

Great range

I bought this appliance a month ago and I'm very happy with it. I was worried that when I bake in one oven the other oven may get heated cause I keep baking pans inside. But it does not heat the other oven that's not in use. The cook top also does not get heated unlike my previous range where cook top would become little hot
