Soap door opens 50% of the time

We got this brandy new dishwasher and it looks great, runs quietly but only cleans about half the time because the little soap door only opens about ever other time we run it. It's a tiny piece of this big expensive machine, but it's an important piece... I'd love to have it fixed... Any ideas??

Repaired after just 2months

Bought this dishwasher in October and had the repair folks over in January after waiting 3 weeks for the appointment. Runs quietly but the odor in between washes is horrible. Perhaps stagnant water in the machine that doesn't drain well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Breaks down, expensive parts!

I purchased this dishwasher b/c it looked really nice and seemed to have great features. However buyer beware! It broke down just over a year (and so was outside of the manufacturing warranty). I have other GE appliances that are sturdy so I didn't purchases extended warranty. I did not expect a new dishwasher to break down so soon! And the parts came up to almost the same price as a new dishwasher! I do not recommend this to anyone! I will not buy GE anymore. If I had this dishwasher for 10 years, I can understand the repair price. But I just recently got this! Quality is lacking.

I have only owned this dishwasher for 2 weeks and I am pleased with the quality of it. I really wanted a quiet dishwasher and you only know it is running because of the light on the front. It dries the dishes well and I really like the bottle rack feature. I am happy with my purchase.

Beautiful and functional

When it came to upgrade we were impressed with all the options of this dishwasher. We were long overdue for a new one. After the installation we were excited to get a load in it and test out these features. The steam pre-clean was able to break through some really nasty baked on crud; the bottle washers made our pretty narrow opening bottles look pristine and the overall finished cleaning of the dishes was quite impressive.

Options are convenient and seem to be versatile with any lifestyle. My dishes are cleaner than they've ever been. I washed my crock pot after making cheesy potatoes. Even though it was caked with hard, burnt cheese, the pot came out virtually spotless. The only "complaint" I have is that my drinking glasses are so clean now, you can see all the tiny scratches on them.
