Refrigerator that thinks it is a freezer!
on July 16, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator last September and it has continued to freeze many items. It freezes the lettuce, orange juice, etc. despite many interventions to try recommended by the customer service rep. I have increased the temperature to 40 degrees and leveled it, but the problems still remain.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good but loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The space inside looks large but does not hold as much as you would think. The freezer space is difficult to arrange but I believe that is simply a factor of the bottom freezer design. It does not make a lot of ice even on the ice plus setting. The compressor is VERY LOUD. I think for as much as I paid it is just average.

Great value. Large capacity for size.

When we remodeled the kitchen, the floor was 1/4" higher and our side-by-side refrigerator would no longer slide under the cabinet. Thus began the search for a shorter refrigerator. We chose LG due to its reputation and have been very pleased. Our utility bill is already lower. Since there are only two of us using the refrigerator, the capacity is more than adequate. The only thing I would change is the ability to open one of the drawers without opening both refrigerator doors. However, this would require having wasted space in the middle between the drawers and the drawers would have to be smaller. There could also be a version of this model that's wider. We have 4" of extra room for a wider refrigerator. Then wasting space between the drawers wouldn't be as much of an issue. Height was the only constraint. We've left the compressor warranty tag on the front door because it left a mark when we tried to take it off. Any suggestions on how to remove without marring the door?

Horrible

Extreme condensation on Mullion requires a towel to wipe it every time the refrigerator is opened to avoid puddle dripping on the floor. Very annoying. Have been trying to get LG service for 6 weeks and yet to have service person from LG arrive. Service people on the phone say there is nothing they can do.

Small outside but big inside!

We shopped a lot of refrigerator options to fit our small space. This fridge fits a 34" width and is a bit deeper than our old fridge. The french doors make it work. This fridge has so much room inside. We regularly store 6 gallons of milk on one side of the top shelf. Another nice feature is how quiet this fridge runs. All our refrigerated foods are uniformly cool. The bottom freezer keeps everything much colder than our old top freezer model. The handles are heavier duty than some others. The fridge is only two months old. We are very happy.

good but...

I agree with another review about the whining high pitched sound when it runs, so I can't give it an overall rating of 5 stars. I'm not sure if its the fan or the compressor but its noticeable even though I have tinitus in both ears (yes, my wife hears it too). Too bad as the compressor does run quite otherwise. We purposely bought this without the door dispenser as we don't really need it but also due to research noting that many complaints about refrigerators are due to faulty ice makers and in-door dispensers. The support on this fridge says that there could be a buzz if the ice maker is on but not hooked up. But we don't use the ice maker either so its off and not hooked up. Otherwise, this is very nice fridge with good features.

Superior Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this unit for just over two months, and I find myself liking it more each day. Both the design and construction of this product is superior to every other fridge we looked at. Some reviewers complained about a high-pitched noise, but honestly I have to put my ear to the side of it just to confirm that it's running! Thank you for another great appliance!

Problems with temperature consistancy
on December 14, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our refrigerator 2 months ago. We are very disappointing in the refrigerator maintaining a consistent temperature. The refrigerator temperature varies by as much as 10 degrees from the set temperature. The local appliance store we bought our appliances from replaced the control panel, but that has not corrected the problem. We would not buy this refrigerator again.
Pros: Style/Design
