[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compressor needed replacing twice, the first time about a year after purchase. Have also had fans and thermostats and other components replaced. The plastic condiment holder shelves break easily and half of them are being held together with white tape. We are generally gentle on our appliances and this thing's a lemon. If I'd found out about the class action suit sooner, I'd at least have gotten some of my money back. Am *actually* waiting right now for yet another repair. I want to like the fridge... styling is great and it *was* quiet when we first bought it. I'm giving a rating of "Good" on value since *if* the fridge had worked, which I presume it does for some people, the price would have been good.

Bought in December 16, 2015 Compressor failed in 2023. The new compressor and circuit board components were mismatched, so we had to buy the board too.

Extremely poor quality, great layout

We've had very serious problems with the quality of this fridge. The fridge never cooled well, and after a few years the compressor had to be replaced - LG did honor the warranty, but the new compressor has also never been able to keep the fridge cold enough - our milk goes bad before the expiration date and our ice-cream is soft in the freezer. The door shelves and vegetable meat drawers have cracked and had to be replaced, some multiple times - quite expensive and not under warranty. Also, the door liner shelve hangers have torn off the door liner - the plastic used to create the door liners is extremely thin- thinner than a pop bottle - with just Styrofoam behind it and that is what is used to attach the shelves. These are irreparable, now we a pretty much out of ways to hang the door shelves. The features, layout and appearance of this fridge are really good and the only reason I give it any stars at all, the quality is beyond abysmal. This is by far the worst durability I have ever encountered in a fridge. At about 7 years old I am finally giving up repairing this fridge and living with the poor cooling and am now looking to replace it. But it feels wrong to have to replace this soon, and really, it has never cooled right and the shelves and drawers have been breaking since the first year., I probably should have replaced it long ago.

I had this fridge for just over 8 years and it died and the freezer and fridge no longer worked. Unfortunately, 8 years seems to be somewhat standard these days but I was hoping it would last longer. It was a good size and I liked it while I had it, but I didn’t want to spend money diagnosing and repairing so I replaced it. I read a lot about LG compressor problems but not sure if that was the issue or not.

lasted 7 years, door bins broke easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fridge and freezer not getting cold. It was purchased in 2017. We bought the house with it in 2021. I have replaced at least three of the door bins because they crack and separate. it says it’s a smart diagnosis fridge, but I can’t find the button to push and there’s no QR code. I see the smart diagnosis symbol above the right hand door. it’s a nice looking fridge and I like the bright LED lighting, but the lifespan just isn’t great and I don’t think it’ll be worth fixing and since I’m not the original buyer, there is no warranty left at all. not impressed with the seven your lifespan.

If you're having trouble finding the Smart Diagnosis feature or QR code, it may not be available on your specific model. Smart Diagnosis is usually activated through the LG ThinQ app, but older models may not support this feature.

Very nice, some changes are a little off

I have had it for a few days now and everything is working great. A few things peaked my interest though. (1) The fruit/vegetable drawers have the humidity control, but you can easily see between the drawer top and the shelf (air flow). So the humidity control knobs are useless since it will let air flow through the large cracks regardless of the position for the control. (2) There is no longer a butter tray (with the rotating lid to close it off). (3) I replaced an older LG french door fridge with this fridge and the freezer on the old on has a small tray at the top of the freezer door (for small items). The new door still has the molding for it, but didn't come with the tray or the holes punched to put the tray if you wanted to even buy one (if for some reason it was sold separately). (4) For some reason they have changed the color of the fridge to grey instead of black (fridge and freezer door is stainless steel of course, I'm talking about the sides, top and back).
I would recommend this to a friend!
