This drive is very easy to use. I've connected it to my PC in no time, and backed up everything using the provided software, which works just great. It's very quiet, works flawlessly and looks great on my desk. So far I'm very happy with it.

I am really happy with this product. It looks great, and works just as advertised. Fast, powerful, silent. My PC recognized it immediately, and I haven't had any problems with the supplied software or with compatibility with Windows 7. The drive works each and every time. Just like clockwork.

After 4 months of use this hard drive failed. I asked a genius bar rep if he new anything about LaCie drives and he said he'd seen more of them fail than any other external hard drive. I shouldn't have wasted my money, I will continue to stick with Seagates which have never failed, having one that is twelve years old and is still used everyday is something I could never say for LaCie.

What's great about it: USB 3.0, high quality, quiet, excellent design
I love this drive. It's totally silent, runs cool and looks really neat. I bought it to expand the storage capacity of my Dell computer. The casing is made from strong, lightweight aluminum, which helps to dissipate heat away from the drive, thus eliminating the need for a fan. The transfer speeds are great. The drive is equipped with USB 3.0 interface and comes with a USB 3.0 cable. I'm happy with this product and considering buying another one like this, maybe a portable version this time.

What's not so great: Nothing, all good!
I bought 4 of these to use for Video Streaming. They are compact, quiet, and cool running. I have them connected to USB3 ports and no problems at all. The only issue I had to figure out was the light kept turning off in the front of the drive. I found out that it's because they are going into power saving "sleep" mode. The cool part is you can fully configure that feature through the provided or downloaded Lacie Drive Manager. Completely satisfied and love that you can configure them!

I just bought this item a week ago. I was very excited because of the capacity 2TB and quickness to transfer files. I had all my pictures, videos, documents and etc on my MacPro Labtop and I need LaCie to be my storage unit. I have Airport Extreme Wireless modem. I connect my LaCie to the modem. To be honest I was having trouble but I google my problem and boom, it's all fix. I love how my Apple Airport Extreme is able to connect to my hard drive because I'm able to transfer all my file through Wi-Fi. One more thing, it's very very quiet!!

This drive is great for anyone who needs secure file storage! It looks good. Works perfectly. Allows data encryption. Is very easy to setup. Runs quietly and doesn't overheat. On/Off switch is great. The drive looks awesome. And you get 10 gigs of wuala cloud storage for free. I personaly love wuala. In my opinion it's better than dropbox because the files are encrypted locally before they are sent to the cloud, so nobody can access them but me.

I would recommend this drive to anybody who really cares about quality. It's quiet, does not overheat, and the design is excellent. It's supplied with USB 3.0, backward compatible with 2.0. All software is easy to install and understandable, and the drive comes with 10 GB of free storage space on wuala. I really enjoy using it!

Great desktop drive. Works very well. The enclosure is made of aluminum and seems to be very sturdy. I bought this drive because of its design and because of USB 3.0 speed, to back up my PC. It is indeed very speedy. Overall I am super pleased with the performance.
