Fax will not operate on Comcast digital

I love everything about the all in one Officejet 8600 Pro except the fax machine. The fax machine will not opporate on a Comcast digital phone line. It must have an analog phone line to operate properly. I have purchased a digital filter as suggested but that did not work. On numerous web sites digital to analog adapters are suggested. The adapters are very expensive and much more expensive than purchasing a stand a lone fax machine. I am extremely disappointed in HP for not mentioning the need of an analog phone line in its advertisement or technical specifications for this product. Frankly, had I known the fax machine was not compatable with my phone service I would have purchased a brand that was compatable. Although I love everything about the printer,scan and copy functions I cannot recommend it because the fax machine is not compatable with all types of phone services.

In our office we are making copies left and right. And the HP 8600 has been a great addition to my office. Not only do I get great crisp copies, it scans very well and fast. The apps on this machine
in so great. I can use my phone to send pictures or documents to my printer using eprint. Its just great.

This printer replaced my 6100 series all in one printer. I had used it for the last 7 years without a flaw. The only thing I hate about all the printers is that you don't have a slot for envelopes. I haven't investigated this printer enough to see if I couldn't load envelopes in the extra tray that comes with it. So far, the printer works great. The fax is faster than my old one. This is my 6th HP printer I have owned in the last 20 years. I wish they would make one where the ink was not so expensive.

cannot get ink cartridges loaded

First, there were no instructions on how to load the ink cartridges included in box; then when I went on line and pulled down instructions, the instructions did not work. I am experiencing the same issue apparently others have, the ink cartridge will not return to the left side so I can access it. I am going to call support but pray I do not have to pack this all back up again and return it -- if this is a known issue, why aren't these checked before shipping - the whole point of ordering directly from HP was to make sure I received a good machine that had not been tampered with!!!! I do hope either a part can be sent or someone sent to fix this as it is going to be very difficult for me to get this all packed up and returned -- arghhhhhhhhhh! Frustrated in Virginia

I tried connecting my brand new HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium to my brand new iMac and it doesn't work. The screen on the Printer stopped with a message "Use Setup Cartridges" and the instructions advised "Attention: Please do not install from the CD if you are using Mac OS X v10.7 Lion." Other instructions say connect with a USB cable. There is no USB cable connection on the 8600. I now have a 3 in one that doesn't work and the instructions are of no help.

1)My printer stopped printing. 2) It is extremely slow to print anything.. It took about 2 min to print out a status report. 3) it does not receive faxes. It did when first set up. 4) Been on phone for 25 min with anna in India and no success. Her supervisor got on the line and i could not understand his speech. The screen says that" Paper detected does not match paper size or type selected" I explained this to Anna and she set up to print out a status report.Help, Help or tell me where to return this printer.

I have owned my Officejet Pro 8600 Premium for a couple of weeks now, so it is early. However it has been excellent so far. Print quality and speed are both excellent. Set up was the easiest and best I have ever experienced on a printer! The ability to print directly to my printer from anywhere via email is exceptional and works excellently. Every feature works very well. Two sided copying, faxing, scanning, etc. I couldn't be more pleased. I would just like to remain pleased as time goes on and only time will tell on that. However I am off to the best start I think possible.

You can't go wrong with HP....period. I've tried other brands, and they fall short of the mark. If I had one complaint, it might be, the initial setup is a little tricky. The online support and thorough documentation, get you through it easily. Overall a great product, great customer service from a great company.
