When legal size paper is added to either tray, the specific tray extends out past the front of the printer. This was probably done to minimize it's footprint, and the printer does not automatically detected that legal size paper has been added into either tray.

The HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium is outstanding. First, the on-line shopping experience was so easy to accomplish. Second, the printer set up was a breeze -- no problems at all understanding how to get started. Finally, now I have run through all the functions, I am so pleased with the outcome. This is my second HP printer (the first one is still in use and is such a workhorse!) and along with my HP Pavilion dv7, I am happy to endorse your fine products and excellent service. Thanks to your whole team and keep up the great work!

This HP 8600 Printer has all you need and more.
The unit is up to date and the hP help service is a number 10, 10 being the Best number possible to get in a chart of 1 to 10.

Everything about this printer is great. Easy to connect to my wireless network and it stays connected unlike my old 8500. Fast printing and great quality copies. Best printer I've ever owned.

I read many positive reviews of this printer before purchasing it, and they were all correct. Indeed, the one complaint -- that setting Tray 2 as the default was complicated -- was not difficult at all. I have found that all functions are smooth and relatively fast. I have not yet used the apps, but I have used the eprint with an ipad and a MacBook, and it works well for print documents and photographs. Scanner software is fine, too, including accurate OCR. This Pfficejet indeed replaces all my other office equipment. Very highly recommended.
