Better than Braun

I bought it to grind espresso beans. I wanted to grind the beans very fine. It ground the bean so fine that it clogged my espresso filter. So now I don't grind quite that long.
The Smartgrind circulates the grinds as it grinds them so the finshed product is consistant.
I had a Braun coffee grinder but it did not grind evenly and I had to open it and stir the grinds several times to get all the grinds fine enough.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Efficient quick grinding and easy to control the coffee grounds courseness. When filled grinds about 2-3 cups.

Wife swears by it. But the blade dont spin anymore

Wife uses it to grind spices. Fast effective and we have used it for about 30 times.
However it appears the blade is not attached around the spindle anymore so not spinning. The motor and spindle are fine. Appears that the plastic part that attaches the blade to the spindle is broken off - so its hanging loosely around the spindle. Any remedy for this?
Rating is 2 - bcoz unit failed much earlier than expected

Button on plastic lid is fragile and breaks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this just over a year ago, and while it does not give an even grind it was sufficient for my use. The plastic button from the lid that operates the grinder is fragile and broke off I am now unable to use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small and convenient.

I really like this grinder, I found it was small enough to keep it on the counter and the fact that you can roll the cord under the machine is useful. However, the lid if fragile and the pin to power the engine broke. So now I have a nice blender, but can make it work. For that reason it's hard to recommend this product and you may found frustrating the fact of have a machine that is useful and working, but with a simple detailed because useless.

Worked fine until the lid broke.

This seems to be a pretty common complaint. The lid broke after normal use. The lid is also very hard to clean, and a good amount of coffee gets stuck in the lid and around the top of the grinder itself. I can probably still make the grinder work, but I'll be shopping around in the meantime.

Poorly designed; Too much flimsy plastic

The grinder itself grinds well, but within weeks, the bond between the stainless steel body and the plastic grinder bowl body, broke and sits loose now. Only a few weeks later after that cheap, poorly designed (for placing on counter) plastic cap, fell for the hundredth time, breaking the flimsy plastic lever used to activate the grinder.
Not super impressed with the design of the chord storage either. Easier to wrap electrical chord around base then try to cram in under the bottom, creating uneven surface only lending to more falling and breaking of the plastics.
