I owned a GE microwave for over 30 years and loved it. I am disappointed in this newer one because the heat isn't consistant. When set at a lower setting, it doesn't heat at that setting, it seems to run high, then shut off, then high again, causing over-cooking on some items. Not anywhere near as reliable as my old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very large interior, seems to microwave evenly

We use it a lot and it is working very well. Seems to heat evenly compared to prior microwaves we've owned. Keypad is intuitive and easy. Some clever features - won't turn on if it doesn't think there's food in the oven ("FOOD" message) for example. If it lasts a few years, we'll like it very much. I'm hesitant because nothing seems to last long any more. Our first microwave lasted 18 years, the second one 13, the last one less than 4. And that's been a trend, even with large appliances. The old ones lasted much longer than those in the last decade. Nothing to do with GE, just in general. So we like this microwave very much but will reserve judgment for a few more years. It's about 2 or 3 months old so far.

Makes to much noise.

Great oven

Bought to replace a 16 year old Sharp. Couldn't be happier. Cooks evenly and thoroughly and does so quickly.
