The microwave itself cooks food very well and fairly evenly. The issue I have with it is how long it works. The first one lasted just shy of 3 years before it stopped heating the food. It turned on, plate inside rotated and so on, but nothing came out hot. I bought another of the same model because I have an outer frame/plate (my microwave is built into the cabinet not sitting on a counter) and I knew this one would match exactly in color and shape. The second one lasted 1 year and 8 months. Now I'm on my third purchase of this piece of junk. I only buy it because it's a perfect match to the stainless steel oven below it, otherwise, I'd buy something other than a GE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the best choice

The size and appearance are perfect for our kitchen. The control buttons are not easy to push. Instead of entering numbers for time, you enter time cook first then numbers. Timer on/off has to be pushed first and last. Too many steps to complete.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We needed a new microwave for some bigger dishes that we bought. I really like the size and power of this microwave. You literally could cook a big turkey in it. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is that it is very loud. Our last GE was not this loud.
