COOKING FEATURES NEED CHANGE AS CAN'T JUST SIT FOOD INSIDE UNTIL READY TO ACTIVATE, MUST RE SIT THE FOOD TO START. NOT GOOD FOR A BUSY COOK.

I have owned a GE microwave for about 20 years and never had a day of trouble with it. So when I needed one for my new home, I checked reviews for the top five microwaves, and not surprisingly, found GE on the list. So I purchased this one and have used it about 10 times so far. It works great but unlike my older one, when I take items out, the glass turntable is so hot that I have to leave the door open to dissipate the heat. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be that way or it isn't working properly. I guess I'll find out.

We use this microwave many times a day; love the "friendly features." The microwave is easy to use--has bold numbers on the key pad.

Changing Power Level

Looking over what others have written in your reviews I did find someone else who experienced the same problem that I had found with this particular model anyway. You can't change power level during Express Cook. You have to use Time Cook instead to change power. The manual needs to be updated. Either the manual is wrong or the circuit board has a fault in this model: JES2051DN4BB. Older models were made better. They worked as promised in their manuals but not this one. I bought this one after my older model GE microwave started heating itself without touching any buttons. I think the internal battery was getting old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Controls are not as easy to read as other microwaves. Other than that It is a nice addition to my kitchen. Just as in previous microwaves, I guess I will end up memorizing where each button is and what they say anyway.

My microwave went out..so i got online and searched several brands.. i found the GE brand had the best features at the best price. Super easy to operate as well.
