This is a great general purpose microwave. I am not a big microwave cook but this fits perfectly into the space with the mounting brackets from my original microwave. This is the second one that I have purchased. First one only lasted 20 months but GE was great to assist with the replacement. Thank you GE for excellent customer service!

What I was looking for

Bought this to replace a Kenmore that lasted 3 years. The oven was a little noisier than other microwave ovens when cooking and then when the fan came on it sounded like a helicopter landing in the house. I took it back and got another since it was the size I wanted and matched our GE range. The second one is great, works well, easy to use, quiet, and has the features we want. I hope it holds up.

The Micro Wave oven is a great piece of equipment.

We have had satisfactory results with the Micro Wave. . . . the only problem is that the key pad requires extra pressure with your fingers to to provide the input for the selection that you want.

Energy waster - near junk.

Instead of immediately microwaving, the fan starts to blow.

Hello Niceguy1 - Thank you for the excellent feedback on this microwave. Consumer comments go a long way in the development of new appliances.
A fan where the internal components are located will run continuously while the microwave is in operation to constantly circulate the air to cool the working parts. It is normal for the internal fan for the electronics to continue to run for a few seconds before and after the microwave cycle, even if the door is opened. This fan does not circulate air in the cavity.
