Just bought yesterday to replace a 22 year model. Plenty big enough, sturdy and easy to use. I hope to keep on using it 20 ++ years as well.

My second one

My GE microwave broke down after a wonderful 8 years of heavy service. It may have been my fault as I did some excessive boiling to sterilize my sponges and to help remove an oily film from some plastic storage containers that was not removed by Dawn.
I commented when we bought the old microwave that it was the best one I had owned. It had a 14" turntable and 1100 watts of power. I loved the express buttons allowing from 1 to 6 cooking minutes with the touch of one key, and the add 30 seconds key. It heated foods quickly, and the inside capacity was huge. I cooked large quantities in it, such as a whole head of cabbage. Vegetables cooked in it such as cabbage, squash, or corn are more delicious than by other cooking methods because you don't need to add water, or very little anyway. My only fault with the machine is that it does have hot spots requiring lots of stirring, but I suspect most microwaves have this issue.
I use my microwave several times a day, so I was in a hurry to get a new one. The first thing I did was call customer service at GE and ask what current model was most like my old one, and was told about this one. Even though I was in a hurry, I just can't buy anything without doing my research (it took me a year to buy a tv). So I researched ratings in Consumer Reports and elsewhere online, and visited a couple stores. But the bottom line is this microwave in my opinion is the best. I love it's features, size, power, and price. I thought my old one was big and powerful, but this one has two more inches of turntable and 1000 more watts of power. It is even better than my old one. The inside cabinet is more rounded at the edges and therefore easier to clean. But please GE, get rid of that annoying beep that continues every minute when cooking is done. Some foods need to sit after cooking, as I sometimes do in my living room waiting for my food to be ready. The beep gets irritating!
