We had a built-in microwave previously, which matched a built-in oven. When the microwave broke we were unable to find a microwave that matched the previous built-in model. So we went with this, as it looked close enough (though it was no longer a built-in, and just had to sit in the previous microwave's space). Microwave worked well enough early on but just about 3 months in, it stopped working and now runs automatically whenever the door is closed so we are in the process of arranging for a repair. Thank goodness it's still in warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our 15 year old GE microwave bit the dust a month ago and we replaced it with a newer version. Not sure how much was a defective manufacturing issue or something else but we complained to GE and they gave us credit for another. Bought a new one which apparently is based on our original GE unit and it works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
