The only thing that I don't like is there is no LED to show the player is on or off.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations

Netflix fail. Otherwise, it seems pretty decent.

Easy setup and nice GUI. I applied the latest update to the firmware and Netflix failed to play ANY movies I selected giving an error. Checking the internet I found others to have experienced this as well. Since there was no way to roll back the firmware to check, I returned it.
Pros: Inexpensive, adds "smart"to dumb tvs
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the second Samsung Blu-Ray I have owned. Installed in minutes. Has the features I want and is great wireless product.

EXPENSIVE DVD PLAYER!

I've had this "Blu Ray" player for two weeks and all it turns out to be is an expensive dvd player because it does not play blu ray discs. It plays dvds just fine but no blu ray! When the home menu shows up on the screen and play is pushed it says "not available". Did a upgrade and still nothing! Played the discs in a sony blu ray and they played no problem! Don't waste your money on Samsung like I did!
Cons: Did not meet expectations, does not play blu ray movies
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the easiest electronic setup I have ever had. I am a senior citizen and not very "new tech savy" and I had no difficulties whatsoever!

The BD-J5100 Blu-ray Player is loaded with easy to use features ... Discs load VERY quickly ... Has many features that are not offered on far more expensive Blu-ray players ...
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, many features
Cons: the front panel could be better designed better

The BR player is a great basic player. It is small and compact with the right amount of ip/op`s
