We have two of these one in bedroom and one in living room. The one in bedroom won’t play any disks at all, the one in living room plays one out of 5 or you have to keep trying. Both are less than 6 months old. Very very very disappointing!!!!!!!!! Guess I’ll have to switch to another brand!

It is March 3rd, 2019. This is the second time i’ve bought this blu-ray/dvd player. It’s only been since christmas. (2018). The first one didn’t work basically as i got it out of the box, this one lasted about 2 full freaking months. It freezes and then will not turn on. WASTE OF MONEY.

Occasional startup issues; No Hulu

I bought the unit several years ago, and it has functioned well for the most part. There are two issues. Since fairly early on, it occasionally refuses to power up, either by the remote or the unit power button. I have found that I have to unplug the unit, then plug it back in, and then it will start. More recently I got a message from Hulu that the unit would no longer be able to stream their service, as the operating system is too old. I'm not sure why the OS was not updated, bt it means I cannot use it for Hulu anymore.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations

Does not support a wireless connection

I bought this player planning on using streaming services in an upstairs room. Unfortunately, this player requires a wired connection to access the internet. Online set up directions say differently which is very frustrating. Even worse, during the attempted set up it seems to have shorted out and will no longer even start up. A complete waste of money.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

A Little Too Basic

Does eveything fine - buy there is no light to inform you that it is on. How much more would it have cost to add a simple LED?

Terrible performance for a what should be great products

I bought the BDJ-5100 to replace the old 5700, and am extremely disappointed. Everything freezes, discs, streaming, everything!! The worst part is that there is no indicator light to even let you know it's on. I only chose a Samsung because of the TV but now I will have to seek out another brand!!!!

We purchased this product in November and we noticed it wouldn't play DVD's. It continually stops every 9 seconds and freezes in the frame until we press play again. Super annoying! Brand new DVD's that should play don't and old DVD's work fine....Not ideal at all!

BD-J5100 not reliable

Bought my first Blu-Ray player. Decided on this one as I don't need WiFi. Worked first time out of the box, but would not work second time. Required unplugging / re-plugging to get it to work, and even that failed on occasion. VERY disappointed that this unit doesn't even have an LED indicator to show it is powered on or off. Have returned. Will look for another model.
