Everything sticks!

I bought this recently when my old teflon skillet wore out after 5-6 years hoping I'd be able to fry an egg without it sticking. This looked like a good idea, but everything (and I mean everything) sticks to the bottom circle where the heat coil is located. Bacon sticks, eggs stick, stir fry sticks----you name it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst item bought ever

I bought this skillet from the retail shop as I am fond of the items from OSTER. But, this item failed to meet my expectations. I even couldn't use this one. I received this skillet without lid and one stand. So, I trashed it. When I contacted them, they were so irresponsible and ignored to listen to me. Neither they helped me with the replacement nor the refund. Very disappointed for the first time with the products of Oster.

Not worth the money

I bought this electric skillet a few months ago to use the ceramic instead of non-stick. Only cooks on left half the skillet and food sticks terribly-even with oil/spray used. Does not cook evenly or stay a consistent temp. I have used electric skillets for over 30 years. Will be looking for a different one.

GREAT Product

I Like IT....... Works well, easy to clean. Easy to use. I like this size. Although we are two people, and only entertain during the holidays. But it is so nice to have a unit that can be used if we have a power outage, and only have a small generator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

we have a question, what would be the wattage on this thing for we are truck drivers and want to take it with us and we cant have anything over 400 watts.....we love it , use it all the time,

DuraCeramic NOT non-stick

I just bought 6 DuraCeramic nonstick skillets, and one regular teflon skillet to use for food lab use in Family & consumer Science class (Home Ec). All of the Ceramic ones have burn/scorch marks around the element and food sticks more often than not. The ordinary teflon one is super easy to clean and has no marks.

Then add enough water to moisten the baking soda, making a paste like texture and let it sit for a few minutes (for tougher stains let sit up to an hour). Great features, great price, great service!

I bought this model (different color) when I came across it at Target. Upon return home I discovered that one of the legs was missing a screw. I called Oster the next day to request a replacement screw and they quickly replaced the entire unit. All I wanted was the screw! 10 brownie points there!
I have cooked on both units (I was allowed to keep the original) and I can tell you it lives up to the billing. Foods cook and evenly. If I have one complaint it's that the foods cook much faster than the times listed in the owners' manual. Truth be told, most of the foods I cook in this skillet require only 10 minutes total.
I must confess that I'm a 67 year old bachelor who's never been big on cooking. But this skillet makes cooking an absolute breeze. Since it doesn't take up much counter space at all it has become my new best friend. The clear glass cover makes it difficult to overcook your food unless you're just too lazy to look (not advised). My cuisine for the moment is limited as I slowly learn to prepare different meals but anything that requires the use of a skillet is simplicity personified.
A couple of tips: the DuraCeramic coating is a wonder when it comes to non-stick. HOWEVER, you should season the skillet lightly before you cook your first foods. In the original skillet I had slight sticking of bacon burgers on the first outing which later resulted in a slight discoloration of the surface above the heating element. When I received the replacement I sagaciously seasoned the skillet and voila! not a mark.
The heating control does not have the same temperature markings as the manual but it's easy enough to figure out the temperatures. I do most of my skillet work at 350 degrees (burgers, golden brown chicken fingers, bacon and eggs) and with the exception of bacon and eggs 5 minutes per side is ample enough time. I also use a small but ample amount of canola oil. When I make burgers, the juice is always retained, an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Bacon and scrambled eggs are about 4 minutes tops. Depending on how you like your food (I'm a medium-well type guy myself) you'll learn your preferred cooking times and temps in no time at all.
Cleanup, incidentally, is super quick and easy.
I endorse and wholeheartedly recommend this skillet to any and all.

Upon receiving my new skillet, the first thing I made was chili for my family. It was nice because I could keep the chili warm while my family ate!
