Nice size and easy to setup.

Works very well. Not hard to setup. Would be nice if it had a light to show whether unit is on or off.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, easy to setup.
Cons: needs a light to show unit is on or off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy setup, performance sporadic

The player was quick and easy to set up. We use it to watch Blue-rays and Netflix. However, it recently became inoperable (after less than 6 months). After checking cable hookups and searching for software upgrades to no avail, we gave up for a few weeks. Then I turned it on again and it asked to install the latest software upgrade. After that was completed, it seems to be working OK again. We'll see how long that lasts. One other complaint is that there is no ON/OFF indicator.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: sporadic performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received this as a Christmas gift and I thought it was great at first. Then I started having firmware update troubles. We tried all the instructions but it never worked properly again. A serious waste of money. Also there is no power light so it's difficult to see when the device is actually powered on.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Will not stay connected to wifi.

I have several issues trying to keep this bluray connected to my wifi. The first day I got this blu ray player I had no issues getting everything to work properly. Within a couple of weeks I lost the wifi connection to this blu ray player. Finally after several hours of trying it connected. Stayed connected until 2 months or so ago, Now no matter what I try it will not connect to my wifi. We do not have any issues with any other items staying connected only these 2 bluray players. Complete waste of money.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, will not stay connected to wirfi.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unit is filled with flaws

It wouldn't connect with the WiFi at first Once it did it worked but failed repeatedly to reconnect. Ended up running it wired t through a netgear wireless interface. No light on the unit so you can't tell it's on or off. It frequently will not turn off using the remote so must be shut off at the box. I often get no menu when the unit is turned on and the player must be cycled on and off by removing the wall plug.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Need to test out the apps over wi-fi but the design looks good. Other than the fact that the only buttons on the box are power and eject I think it is functionally very good looking. I will update in a few weeks. My last Samsung BluRay player broke just shy of the 1 year mark so I am very anxious to get a read on this newer model.
Pros: Inexpensive, Bright display

My Samsung BD-J5700/ZA Blu-ray Player is great. While the features may not be as plentiful as others, the picture is perfect and the sound is wonderful; that is why I got a Blu-ray player.
Yes, it doesn't have an LED to tell you it is on but that is really a minor concern since you simply turn it off when the disc is done.
The player does give you access to several streaming sites for movies although I do not use them. Overall, this is the best player, and the least expensive(cheap) one, I have ever owned. I recommend it to anyone seeking an excellent product.
Pros: Inexpensive, terrific picture and sound through hdmi

Great little box!

We had a surround sound/dvd player before this. This dvd player is easier to use and is "smarter". I was very happy to find the feature for streaming Amazon Prime in addition to Netflix. Having the controls for my Samsung TV integrated into the remote enabled me to put the TV remote away. The remote is smaller which is good for space management but harder to find the right buttons quickly. We should able to memorize them soon so that issue should go away. It is weird to not have a power on light but not a major issue (my husband complains about all of the ambient light in our home with the various power and clock lights so he prefers it to not have the power light).
Pros: Inexpensive, amazon prime streaming
