I SPENT THE GOOD PART OF AN HOUR JUST SITTING IN FRONT OF MY TV TRYING TO GET THIS CONTRAPTION TO WORK. MY EYESIGHT ISN'T AS GOOD THESE DAYS AND NOBODY TOLD ME THAT LIGHT EMITTING DIODES WERE THE NEW TREND .FOR GETTING THE SOUND YOU REALLY WANT OUT OF YOUR TV. GOD BLESS TODAYS YOUTH!! ONE LITTLE INSIGNIFICANT WIRE KEPT ME FROM HEARING WHAT THIS SOUND PLATE CAN DO. COMPLEXITY ...SIMPLIFIED!! THANK YOU LG!!

It's all about the bass ... and only the bass.

The bass response is incredible. If that's the only audio signal present, but music with treble sounds horribly washed out, compared to speakers which have a more complete audio range.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replaces larger system

I bought this accessory for 2 of the 3 lg's I recently purchased and found it to be competitive with the large multi-speaker sysem I sold. Worth the investment and works as advertised. On the Cinema setting, the sound really envelopes you.

Thus unit was very easy to connect to my new 65 inch Smart TV. Only one optical cable connected to the unit and my tv. Although the unit has a remote control, the tv turns it on and off when I turn on or off my television. The remote is small and very easy to use. There is also a mute button to use when necessary. The sound quality is excellent, especially for one who has poor hearing. Would highly recommend this as an external sound system.

Amazing product for reasonable rate

I bought 2 LG LAP sound systems and both of the sound systems are excellent. My family is enjoying with the sound quality, compact design, easy installation, user friendly and excellent support. I highly recommend this product for all music lovers.

Great sound but interface needs improvement

I got this a couple of months ago at a local store, I think it improves the sound of movies and TV shows, however the interface needs a little improvement:
- It should turn on automatically when receiving optical signal.
- One LED to show current status? come on, I need more information without having to press the remote's buttons to figure out it's current status, I need more display information:
- Current volume level.
- Is Cinema sound on/off.
- Current Input mode (Optical / Bluetooth).

I got this for free so can't complain but...

So , the store it was in had to throw it out and instead I got it off them . Can't complain much for that there but if I anyways opened it up and turned down the subwoofer , all the excess bass was gone. I listen to metal mostly so bass isn't the most important thing there. After calibrating it to metal , it was awesome , great replacement for a tiny 20W system or so but for the price , you can get better options . However , if you do open it hold back the current going to the woofers and increase a bit tinniness by overpowering the resistance , it becomes an audiophile product .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a bit disappointed that you can't adjust the audio on this unit. The bass can almost be a bit much sometimes. I also think it would sound better if the unit had more space between the bottom and the tv stand. I think sound gets trapped since the speakers are underneath with little room to expand.
