Excellent for Playback, Weak for Streaming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Playback of disc media including upscaling and NTSC/PALS conversion is exccellent.
Streaming is poor, long time to buffer, and jittery scenes. I have high speed internet with excellent streaming on my LG Smart Tv, Apple TV, and Roku. I am on my 2nd BP550, and streaming is still slow. LG told me it is not computer, it will take awhile into the movie to adjust to my internet service. I reminded them it is a computer, and all my other, including LG, streaming devices work fine. Net, buy for playing CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and NTSC/PALS conversion, not for streaming.

I bought this unit and it quit after a few uses. After much hassle I finally got a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was anxious to get, however it continues to "freeze up" and the only way to fix is to unplug and replug and start over. Kind of a pain.

Great Compact Blue Ray Player

My first Blue Ray player. Pairing up with my LG TV was very easy. I watched Avatar and it was like wow. It was a copy I already had so I had not bought the 3D version but I have watched some 3D movies and they are very cool.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plays disks great but streaming services suck. I'm one room away from my router and it drops the internet connection constantly forcing me to unplug it. It's basically useless as a streaming device. Wish I had returned it!

Some disappointments

We've had the DVD player with Wi-Fi for about 6 months now and other than Amazon App not working hardly at all and unusable Apps. included the machine itself works just fine. Videos play on it with no problems and Netflix and VUDU Apps work well also.
Pros: easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
