I really wanted to like this washer. But I have owned it for 10 years, and I've had to force myself to go through so many "Unbalanced" error codes, which forces me to watch it and restart the spin cycle. This is despite me lowering the load and making sure its properly distributed. Also, it is so loud that I close the laundry room door and open the window to disperse the sound. I am an LG electronics fan, but I would not recommend this appliance to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this washer for almost 10 years now. It worked great for the first ~2 years, but since then we have struggled with it draining. Multiple expensive repair calls resulted in "nothing wrong with it," yet it continues to fail to drain. Nothing wrong with the motor. We've developed a workaround of draining it manually, but that's a huge pain and only works because our laundry room has direct access to an exterior door (we drain it on to our deck using irrigation piping -- this is insane!). We are finally giving in and getting a new machine and do not plan to buy LG again.

It was great at first. This was the first front-loader I had, and it seemed gentler on fabrics than an agitator and removed more moisture in the final spin. But within a couple of years the bleach holder leaked, causing rust on the front of the machine and damage to the floor. Later the door hinge seemed to be rusty and difficult to open and close. The final blow was a "LE" problem, where water would not empty from the machine.
