Disappointed

I bought this player four months ago to add smart features to my non-smart tv. I am reluctant to say that it has been disappointing. I use Netflix and Pandora and have experienced frequent loss of wi-fi connection, on an otherwise stable home network. This loss happens more frequently while Pandora buffers a new set of songs. I have tried streaming music from my other two computers in the home and it is sluggish making a connection and in response time, but does work. And like others, I resolve my screen freeze/locking up issue by pulling the power cable which thankfully is easily available and not buried inside an entertainment center. LG needs to work more diligently to resolve these issues. SW Version BD23.958.50908.c reported as up-to-date. Recommended with caution to shop around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought mine so I could have Netflix in my bedroom. It works great. It also plays DVDs wonderfully AND I can view programs that I have on my USB flash drive.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quality

Terrible wifi. Terrible remote

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set up is painful, it has to be the slowest and most dimwitted menu I've ever come across. Wifi doesn't work ever (Tell a lie it's connected once) it'll either ask to put my password in and then not connect or just not find any routers at all (No option to hardwire either) A quick internet search shows this to be a very common fault, if this is an insight to what other LG products are like then im never buying anything of theirs again. I'd give no stars if it was possible

Very disappointing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this blu-ray DVD player about 5 weeks ago. I have watched 2 DVD's and streamed shows only 4 times during this time period, so it certainly has not been over- used. Now the issue- - -last week i started to stream a movie and the home page simply jumped around uncontrollably each time I pressed the remote. I acted like I was holding the forward button down continuously when I had only pressed it once. Since I could not get remote to stop continuously moving, I put in a DVD to watch a movie. Even that did not work. When I pressed the remote play button nothing happened at first. There was no response regardless what button I pressed. At some point the remote responded but then would not actually play the video. So my take on this is, perhaps the problem lies with the remote. I will be returning the device and try again
Very disappointed with an LG product. The LG products are usually top-notch.

Freezes up

Everytime I try to watch a movie on the internet with it it freezes and I have to unplug it to move it...I bought 2 of them Thanksgiving night and they both do it...not happy with it. Plays dvds just fine

Do not buy.

I bought this device at the start of the year. It takes forever to load, keeps freezing videos to buffer, and the product page claims it's Amazing compatible. It's not.

Misleading

I was given this gift and I was very excited. So far the YouTube feature and watching DVDs Works wonderfully. The netflix however is awful. It buffers constantly I can't get even a minute of uninterrupted show. Where as on my other device (Wii) Netflix plays with zero faulty. As I type this my screen has frozen all together.

Easy Set up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very compact, easy to connect to TV. You need an HDMI cable (not included.) Compact in size, case is plastic not metal, weighs under 2 lbs.
Excellent product so far. Gave it 4 stars for plastic.
