Nice frig, but need to address the icemaker frost

We really enjoy the features of this frig and at first we didn't really want the water dispenser. Now that we have it, we like it but remember to buy a spare filter when you buy this unit. This frig has good size and was a perfect fix for the space we had.
That is one thing I would make sure you pay attention to, watch your size if you have cabinets above the frig and if you are planning to replace your floors (ie - tiling a floor#. The other thing is to pay attention if you want the frig to stick out or be level with the cabinets.
The only drawback with this frig is the gasket #inside left side door) that feeds the icemaker section. This is constantly frosting up and you have to wipe it to keep from having frost buildup.
This unit is great at keeping the temperature fixed. You really have to pay attention with the refrigerator section, set to cold or you will get things freezing up if there is any moisture present.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings

Mostly a great fridge

We've had this fridge for about six months and are happy with its performance, with a couple of exceptions.
Pros: Good space design for counter depth. I like the multiple freezer compartments, and the glide-and-serve drawer is great. Also like the water dispenser for tall bottles, though guests need instructions! Fridge is quiet and maintains the temperature.
Cons: Big ongoing problem with ice dispenser, which freezes up every couple of days. I've tried lowering the temp to -4, rapping on the container to break up the ice, turning the dispenser off for a while when it's full...but it still freezes into a clump regularly at the bottom, & I have to clear it out. The condiment shelf catches lots of ice when I do this & can't be removed for easy cleaning. In summary, I have to cozy the icemaker along, & even then it's not very reliable. I've heard this is a design or engineering flaw. Only one other minor complaint: would prefer two vegetable/fruit crispers rather than three, since some large items don't fit easily.

We love everything about this refrigerator - counter depth was our requirement, but everything has been fantastic so far. The water dispenser in the door took a little getting used to, but we love it now. Love the compartments in the door and the drawers.

Wonderful counter depth french door frig

We were looking for a counter depth french door refrigerator that also had plenty of room. We found it with this refrigerator. The inside is completely configurable so you can move the shelves to make the frig work for you. I love all of the special drawers and bins, including inside the freezer. The ice maker is out of the way and completely hidden behind it's own door, making the inside of the frig look sleek and inviting. The unit is very quiet. Overall, I would buy this frig again if I had to do it all over again.

Fantastic Counter Depth Refrigerator
on May 24, 2014

Joining the bandwagon on the grade of 5 overall stars for this appliance! We, too, spent a great deal of time researching refrigerators (online and in person). Both for a normal depth and a counter depth, one for our previous home to make the kitchen WOW to sell it and then a counter depth for our new home kitchen. The normal depth we purchased was huge and quiet and well... perfect. You can imagine our angst now of having to find a counter depth that could equal that experience.
Yes, we don't have quite as much space as before - depth-wise, but what we lost in depth we made up in very clever shelving and drawers. Why, we didn't even discover we had an EXTRA shelf row tucked away on the bottom of the right door for over 2 weeks. What a surprise! And the freezer drawers are perfect. Sometimes big can mean well... lost! Not here. The 3 drawers make everything visible and easily obtainable.
On to the ice maker. We read so many reviews where ice machines were spewing ice everywhere. Not so here. And you don't have to be ultra careful as to where you put your glass. Does it fill a sitting pitcher - no. But we didn't need that feature. Just a glass of ice is fine. The crushed ice, is very nice as are the cubes. At the end of 2 months we have not had a single incident of blockage.
Yes... and it is QUIET! In our old home, before we bought the final ultra big perfect refrigerator- we bought one that was the 'no fingerprint kind' (Satina). First, that refrigerator had a weird purplish cast to it - and moreover it made so much noise (including whistling) that it had to go back. If they weren't good about taking it back, we would have the fanciest garage fridge ever. There are just some things you cannot put up with. As you may have inferred, the ultra big was not an LG. And its replacement, when we brought the purple one back, was also a non-LG to replace it.
Why do we mention the non-LG? Wouldn't it be natural to go back to the one you really liked? Well the counter depth version of the non-LG did not hold a candle to the LG counter depth. Differences? Bigger, definitely more stylish plus better shelving and drawer arrangement (especially the freezer!!). We were sold when we saw it... but the proof is actually using it. And after 2 months - we conclude - perfect!
We are very happy with our choice. We hope our experience recap helps you choose your next refrigerator!

Super Refrigerator
on July 4, 2014

This refrigerator has so many good qualities, it is difficult to know where to start. It is so stylish it makes my kitchen look new and I am not finished with my redo! So much room and easy to find everything (and to clean; I am short and usually have a difficult time cleaning the back). The freezer is very roomy. The ice- maker is so compact and occupies so little space, which was one of the reasons for this purchase. I never run out of ice! Also, the outside is easy to keep clean and runs so quietly.. LOVE IT!

This is the best refrigerator I have ever owned. I previously owned side by side models which I hated. This French door is very spacious, extremely easy to access and very well designed
