the refrigerator broke down after only 2 years and, when all is said an done, it will have taken well over a month to get it fixed. there is only 1 approved samsung repair co. in my area and they are hard to schedule an appointment with because they are busy. no one else was able to figure out what went wrong. it turns out, after a power outage, a computer board and the compressor failed. this is crazy for an expensive appliance only 2 years old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

bought the fridge brand new and after 2 years of use everything is breaking. the ice maker is freezing over and i cant pull it out because its frozen into place. because the ice maker is frozen over water is leaking into the freezer and causing condesation and ice crystals to form in the freezer. before this problem the power cool function stopped working and was actually heating the inside of the fridge while trying to use it. called a repair guy for the power cool function and he “fixed” it, it now takes about an hour for it to start actually cooling the fridge. do not buy a samsung fridge unless you want to keep paying a repair guy on speed dial to fix your new refridgerator.

our refrigerator model# rf23hcedtsr/aa 5 year extended warranty ran out last month. our refrigerator broke down again! today 2 days before christmas. this piece of junk was worked on 5 times for 5 years. never fixed properly and they were just putting band aids on until our warranty ran out. we purchased all new samsung pieces of crap appliances 5 years ago, all had to be worked on at some time. the exception of the dishwasher that doesn't dry your dishes! what a joke stay away from samsung appliances. i will not even consider giving these to anyone i know unless they want to use them for a boat anchor! stay away!!!

Fridge is starting to purr

i have had this fridge since april 2019, less than 2 years old. i do not cook much, keep mostly essentials and snacks in it. 2 weeks ago i decided to buy more food and loaded the refrigerator, not too full, but enough. it has now started to purr. i will call for maintenance, i hate that a $1800+ refrigerator needs maintenance in less than 2 years.
reason i gave a 3 star rating is up until now no trouble, and very quiet fridge. in last 2 weeks, the purring is getting louder.

Ice maker fail

ice maker design flaw. we paid top dollar and went out on a limb to try the sexy samsung fridge. it has been a great fridge for the most part but with a fatal flaw. the ice maker stopped working 13 months post purchase. it frezzes over and needs defrosting weekly. we turned off the ice maker and buy bagged ice now :(

Problematic Ice Maker

i so wanted a samsung french door refrigerator for a long tim and finally was able to afford one. ive had my fridge now almost 4yrs now and its just been issues with the ice maker after the first year. ive been very dissatisfied and let down by the brand. my sistee bought herself a new samsung fridge and had to alreasy replace a sensor sue to issues with the ice maker. its been a while, maybe a year since ive not been able to use the ice maker. just wanted to warn others of this common issue in samsung fridges.

Don't waste your money

this refrigerator has been a problem since day 1 (ok, maybe day 30). didn't make ice. we lived with it until i had enough. had service here 4 times in a year to fix. 6 month later, ice isn't working, back of the refrigerator is icing up and not cooling the refrigerator. samsung says "no known issue" but read the comments here . almost every single person has had the same issue. they even list the motor running loud and stopping on their website as a known issue. how much money should we continue to pay. 5 years old and this is trash. buyer beware!

Doesn't get cold. Ice Maker Freezes up.

piece of junk. i have the temperature set on 33 degrees and the coldest it will get is about 45.
the ice maker freezes up every other month and i have to take it apart and blow it with a hair drier.
avoid samsung refrigerators!!
